You should not use your own email with it unless you absolutely have to. Chatmail servers are purpose-built messaging servers for this app that are configured to block all emails that are not encrypted (no spam possible) and also have hooks on the mail server side so push notifications get sent to the app (securely, no identifying info leaked)
When you use a normal/legacy email service for DeltaChat you cannot get push notifications.
Create one on my server, it's like 2 clicks and automatic. It's a random email address with a random password. You never give out your email address as your identity anyway, only a link or QR code.
