The second part of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County Institute of Politics February 2025 Poll focused on the environment, health care and energy sources. When it comes to health and health care, 70% of Marylanders rate their overall health as "excellent" or "good" while 29% say it's "poor" or "fair." The poll found 34% of respondents said they or a household member avoided seeking medical care last year due to cost. So, it's no surprise that 37% of people saying the cost of health care and insurance was most urgent health-care problem in Maryland. Moving to the environment, 59% of respondents said they view the overall quality of the state's natural environment as "excellent" or "good," and 40% said it's "poor" or "fair." Lastly, and this is a big one considering the recent rise in Baltimore Gas and Electric bills, the poll asked respondents how they feel about expanding different energy sources.
