答)「しんどい」は、「しんろう（心労ないし辛労）」の変化した「しんどう」がつづまった「しんど」を形容詞化した語であると考えられる。 もとは関西方言であるが、今日では全国的に用いられる。
へぇ、ルーツは関西ってことは、おそらく70～80年代のMANZAI(漫才)ブームの時の言葉なのか、それとも他に伝播した人がいたのか……いずれにせよ「テレビ言葉」なんかなー。
