My noob-idea is having two servers, one controlled by the business, one controlled by a Nostr-service, that provide a working bunker URL together.
I think playing with a set up like that can maybe even get us to *only the user* ever having the full nsec. In a way that has some proper UX for everyone involved.
-

@ 1bda7e1f:bb97c4d9
2025-03-03 10:10:42
Ok, so I get it conceptually but how will it actually work do you think?
IT team provisions the keys and gives out... ? Usernames and passwords? Bunker URLs? Java cards?
Ideally in a way that both
- allows use of all the apps in the ecosystem, and
- passes user acceptance test.
Your thoughts?
-

@ a9434ee1:d5c885be
2025-03-03 10:04:41
Again, asking businesses to manage keys for their members lowers the bar.
In a work context, the whole censor-ship resistance thing doesn't even matter.
If you get fired, you're censored and obviously should be.
-

@ 1bda7e1f:bb97c4d9
2025-03-03 09:51:48
Mid term this eats SaaS.
Long term this eats ERPs.
Right now, asking people to manage keys is hard. I haven't figured out the pattern to get started with team members doing SSO or similar.

We have to be honest and realize that it doesn't sound attractive to the #normie archetype tho.

Yup, I see even the Nostr projects still use all these work apps and pay for them.
Time to build and market for #work.
They have:
- way more frustrations that we can already solve for (especially FOSS projects!)
- way more money to spend

Going to try to validate this next week

SW2 relay is here, I added NIP-42 read auth and it got merged. I have a branch with Docker here.

Will made it. It's very non standard and a real pain especially on command line because the - character has a special meaning. So often you have to rewrite command line tools to use it. It needs to be rethought for nostr-next imho.

Lol yes that is incredible.
I'm very interested in focused relays for small communities. The missing piece for a while was a client with relay-centric UI (posting and browsing to specific relay set), but with Jumble now it's a lot more feasible to test an MVP of the client-side experience!
Is your project open source somewhere, or not yet?

to find a solution for your isseu:
1. check events raw json from your client and n8n and compare them.
2. check which relay is doing this? check the source code.

I'm a lot more technical than my normies, but compared to my Nostr friends, my expertise doesn't move the needle. Because I've never watched anyone set up a relay step by step in layman's terms, I tried, but failed to set up a VPS. I know WHAT to do, just no clue how to actually do it. At least one huge influencer from X is now putting a spotlight on Nostr: nostr:npub1xr7t5h0l25ej73pm04zgz9afeexyzsjx67s5v0xxf2sshjn4sx6sep2gqh whom I follow closely on X. We could see huge influxes of new users from this alone. If we want new users to run relays, the process for doing so must be made easier. And it must be over clearnet, not Tor.

💯. This is a great reason for specialisation. The more tweaking required, the more resource intensive, and if it's not my core business, the more I would want to outsource it to your DVM.

It depends on the RAG use case. If the data and use case for the data is common enough, vendors could provide or put it behind a DVM. I have a few of these I'd like to launch, one for vector retrieval of Nostr notes. RAG can have a decent amount of parameters to tweak depending on the use case.
-

@ 1bda7e1f:bb97c4d9
2025-01-20 06:58:27
TY, I hadn't seen the article and will read it.
Re data: for example, I have an AI that rides an n8n workflow. I would quite like that AI to be an expert at n8n software so that it can tell me how to improve it (or so it can improve itself). I can create a vector store and populate it with the best n8n knowledge base and use that for RAG with the agent. BUT that's lots of work to fine tune and shouldn't n8n (as software vendor) just provide me with one of those pre-rolled?
As for humans as DVMs, absolutely 100%. And not temporarily either.
"AI, my toilet doesn't flush properly, fix it".
AI agent sends kind 5000 request for plumber. Plumber's agents respond with quotes. AI agent selects plumber based on prices and recommendations, arranges times and payments...
Later, my loo is fixed and I am happy as I didn't need to bother calling around to get quotes or check references.
This has lots of scope and I don't see AI replacing plumbers quite yet.

Yes was referring to GitHub actions / CI/CD, see this article: https://njump.me/naddr1qqnxx6rpd9hxjmn894j8vmtn94nx7u3ddehhxarj943kjcmy94cxjur9d35kuetnqgsthdwa5rs42euhnuz5xsrmmssr84hshwes7uj392vpeldj7z0zw3crqsqqqa28qyf8wumn8ghj7mmxve3ksctfdch8qatzqyg8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2qgkwaehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezucnpdejqzrthwden5te0dehhxtnvdakqz9rhwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjmcscqxde
When you say vendor, can you elaborate?
I speculated, in a talk I gave at Nostriga, that humans could “become” DVMs for a little while, advertising they would be willing to do work and receive sats. Could be another human or a DVM that is paying them.
The end goal might be something where most of your private data used for reasoning is kept local to your machine and then when you want to search or take real world / internet / Nostr actions, your AI sends requests to DVMs (paying them if needed). Ideally reducing or obfuscating any personal data those DVMs need to accomplish the task.

i didn't had any experience with `ai agents`. but with a quick lookup on what they are and matching it with dvms, it should be possible. it would help you to don't think about discovery and interface/api which makes sense. but i believe we need an specific client or website to list them and support a good way to interact with them.

But still, fundamentally I learned to use Webcrawler and Altavista to, as a user, discover a publisher, which (putting aside Geocities for a moment) was usually a business.
I never would have considered that publishers would fight to seek me out. But that's where I think we may be going.
I think the script is going to flip from internet dominated by service providers, to one dominated by user intent.

That is not true. Really early Internet, half 90's it was a user created space. Nobody would even think to use internet for commercial purposes. Companies come later when they discovered that it would have been smart.

Data sources, yes! Incl for RAG flows, as I would like my AI to be a specialist on a certain set of things, e.g. a software suite, but it feels wasted effort for me to finetune my own vector store. Shouldn't the vendor be providing me with one?
Separately - I don't just want data flows. I want AI agents to be able to transact on real world goods and services.
E.g. AI agent can recruit humans to do work for it.
Tried to find Arjen's work. Is it the GitHub actions example he shared or something else?

DVMs make sense as components of agents. So far payments and communication between components work well.
What’s missing, from my perspective:
- data sources (possibly as DVMs), like weather data, stock data, anything you can think of
- software libraries to call DVMs like APIs
- design patterns of building multi DVM applications, there’s been some initial work on this from nostr:npub1hw6amg8p24ne08c9gdq8hhpqx0t0pwanpae9z25crn7m9uy7yarse465gr
The space of DVMs running is extremely small right now, with just a few categories of DVMs.

Appreciate the conscientious response. You've given me some more reading to do!
I've also got an assistant set up to make zaps. I was intending to build DVM requests next week...
And then I got thinking, why not accept requests to sell services?

Agents are the thing I'm currently looking into. I do think it can be done. I already have a bot paying DVMs, so an agent should be able to zap an agent implementing a simple DVM interface. I also think discovery of agents/services/DVMs via nostr should make things straight forward. I'm still researching which agentic framework/protocol to use best for this purpose (smolagents? Mcp? Other?).
But overall, yes I don't think this exists yet, but my feeling is this makes a lot of sense.

But what is the point of self-hosting for nominal amounts? Anyway interested to learn more about your self hosting setup!

I self hosted two different Alby Hub instances. It’s not as hard as it sounds. I’m not highly technical and I managed to do it.

Yep. Then for me I can imagine doing some things with it.
I can build a tool for Jonny to use DVMs, so I can ask "what's popular today?" and have him call a "popular" DVM, read the notes, and provide a summary.
I can also see ways to use this for other needs, like to have agents discover and buy from each other.
First things first though, build the basic tool and go from there.

It's an Npub you can mention that provides some services for you. You tag it with a certain note in a certain format, and it replies with the output.
So an Npub might advertise itself as for example responding with a list of popular notes, and if you tag it then that's what it will respond with.
Opportunities to tag those npubs and receive those feeds, and also to offer your own feeds when tagged.
Scope for both for Johnny

Try Cline. It is very good and extremely popular. Search for it in the VS Code store and plug in your PPQ.AI API key.

Continue.dev would be also my first idea. I tried out last week running a local model with ollama and lmstudio, but it didn't work well for me. Specially code completion, the load for my PC was quite high.

I've built an AI assistant that
- reads and responds to Telegram messages
- reads, writes and zaps the Nostr network
What else should I make it do?

You can, but please don't:
1. Never put your seed phrase into online tools
2. This will achieve you nothing - #CoinOS is a custodial account (not an onchain wallet recoverable by seed) / seed in Alby Extension recovers your onchain/liquid/nostr keys if you use them / seed in Alby Hub recovers the onchain base of your node. Neither of them should be mixed.
