I'm a big fan of their bolt actions. https://tactileturn.com/collections/bolt-action-pens

G2 refills are awesome. Get yourself a nice pen and just keep buying refills.
I'm a fan of tactile turn pens.

Any recommendations?

I do not.

Thank you for the report. Do you have google services enabled?

I'm on graphene and it works fine!

Probably not. I am not sure how nostr:nprofile1qqs9g69ua6m5ec6ukstnmnyewj7a4j0gjjn5hu75f7w23d64gczunmgpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43qz9thwden5te0v35hgar09ec82c30wfjkcctexf34p3 handles their location services.
I will need to make an option for folks to manually insert.

-
Hm. In my app it shows one post (that is absolutely nearby) but its from Sept 2022.
-
That is a big range!
For the lower end some heltec v3. For the higher end, some nodes built using the rak4631!
An RTL-SDR dongle could be fun too.
-
Yep, posts will only show if they mark the location you are in. Those location-exclusive posts will not show in any other feed.
This is the new NIP-22. So, there is literally no posts anywhere yet.
-
I don't get it. Will only notes marked with the geotag show up in the around me feed? I've never marked any of my notes with the geo-location tag. Does that mean no one will see any of my notes on their around me feed?
I checked mine local city and it was empty. I changed my location to your city in the USA using a fake gps app and I looked at the feed and see some of your posts but not all of them. I see a couple other posts from other users but not much.
-
If you are using today's version of nostr:nprofile1qqs24yz8xftq8kkdf7q5yzf4v7tn2ek78v0zp2y427mj3sa7f34ggjcpzamhxue69uhhv6t5daezumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qyg8wumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnddakj703s8dt go to the Around Me feed and say hello to your neighbors (+/- 5km, 3 mi). We are going to be using local feeds to onboard new users in the future.

Anarchism is a leftist ideology. There are plenty of us here.

Are there leftists on Nostr?

Noticed even on nostr, the leftists are removing pronouns and rainbow flags from their bio

Awesome find! Just tested on one of my nodes and it worked great. Thanks!

Where's the best place to watch the election numbers come in without dummies putting their useless opinions on top?
-
Looking further and it seems like it only happens once for my private relay but auth.nostr1.com is causing the loop
-
Do you still need an alby account to run hub?
-
Having the same issue. I am using a personal relay that requires auth. Closing the app (swiping it up) and then opening it seems to stop the client auth loop.
-
Do you use Auth Relays?
-
Just keeps going.

Confirmed that OTA upgrades work on Android but not exactly as in the Meshtastic documentation.
The NRF DFU app from the play store does actually work despite the documentation saying that it doesn’t. I needed to change a couple of settings in the app before the firmware update would complete without errors:
1. Set “Packet Receipt Notification” to on and packets to 10.
2. Disable “Request High MTU”
#meshtastic https://i.nostr.build/IChY7yoVw0Uap4Ew.jpg https://i.nostr.build/ioMgj9iz0aKYqOpZ.jpg nostr:note1jqv9qefh4jeuumns2sfvxkmhdn9hw764pdj5nee7vfd2tyek5u9sw4ky9r
-
Android OTA is still broken sadly. Even when using the older (recommended) version of nRF Connect
-
#Meshtastic Tip
OTA firmware upgrades via Bluetooth are a useful way to update RAK4631 nodes that are in difficult to access locations. They don’t work well from iOS devices however as I discovered the hard way.. The firmware update failed and left the node in DFU mode needing to be connected via USB to update. Apparently this is a common issue trying to update using iOS. I haven’t tested an OTA update using Android yet but I have heard from others that it works well.

We need another Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear.

I’ve been watching Jon Stewart for 25 years now, and he is still a shockingly good comedian and commentator.
-
Turning on/off a VPN also causes this issue
-
I noticed that in Graphene, if you switch users sometimed it does not connect again to the relays when you are back. Is it possible that was your case? Maybe same situation will happen if the phone was turned off.
-
At first I was impressed that my battery usage is less than 1% but now I realize that Pokey has been stopping and not showing me notifications all day long, even though it is running.

Miniflux is great. I currently use it to forward my feeds to matrix, but I could totally see a better experience pushing to nostr instead.

I self-host this: https://miniflux.app/

What do you think of adding Nostr support to some RSS readers out there? Does anyone know of a good popular one that would be receptive?

I created Pokey, a nostr Push Notifications Android app.
I called it "Pull Notifications" because I consider it more accurate, but it's more like a joke 😁
This is just still a POC, the path to have a fully functional app is long. But you can start breaking my baby now, have fun.

We should stop saying "I asked AI to do this" - it implies AI has some kind of choice and autonomy and that you are giving up some control.
Did you ask your computer to open a file when you clicked on it?
When you prompt a model you issuing a COMMAND for a GPU to output some bytes.

This is awesome.

This looks great. Along with a static site rendering long form content this is essentially a full fledged blogging engine.
-
This is what I am most interested in. A simple CMS Site Displaying from a list of npubs. Something like nocomment: https://github.com/fiatjaf/nocomment
-
This is pretty cool but what I'm envisioning is a replacement to Hugo/ghost/etc where you out of band write longform content (as markdown), publish it to your relays, and have a static site just pull every kind 8 from a set of npubs and display them. The hope is to not have to run a server at all (other than your own relay if you want)
-
Check out https://nsite.lol

-
I have also been looking for something like this. Kind of the reverse of pluja/blogo which backs up a static site to nostr, and instead something that just reads kind 8s from a relay and displays them.
-
What's the easiest way to host a single page site on a domain where the content is a long form post pulled from relays?

Just remember a high gain antenna will change the propagation shape!

NTFY has been great and I think the community as a whole should adopt it more heavily
-
Or maybe DM relays should have their own Push system and each user must set it up in a way that it sends to their NTFY handler when they receive a new one.
Not as easy as Google Play notifications, but it can work.
-
We basically have to options:
- Auth with a key used by the Push Server itself. Everybody would have to white list that key to download their own DMs.
- Change the relay spec to allow a REQ, authed in the past by the user, like on https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1148/
-
Reminder that if you are using DM relays like inbox.nostr.wine or auth.nostr1.com and no other relay for DMs, you are so private that our own Push Notification system can't see your DMs to send you those notifications :)
We haven't figured out a way to allow push systems into that level of privacy yet.

Ham radio operators can also be very... Let's say possessive about call signs. Someone lost the callsign lottery to me and has had ${callsign}.com registered since they lost, and keeps renewing it just so I can't have it 😂
-
Vanity Call Signs in Ham Radio: A blank canvas to express yourself
Normally, amateur radio operators receive a randomly assigned callsign when they get licensed. However, with a vanity callsign, you can request a custom call sign as long as it fits the formatting rules specific to your nation and region.
Much like vanity license plates, vanity callsigns can be funny, clever, or even downright offensive. Amateur radio operators often get creative, choosing callsigns that play on words, include inside jokes, or reflect their personality. While many are lighthearted or witty, some have pushed boundaries to the point of being controversial or offensive. Some were only discovered to be offensive after they were issued and they had to be revoked. Some of the ones that were revoked were subsequently reissued and upon being rediscovered, they were revoked again. To see some of these look up “Hall of Fame Vanity Call Signs” on the internet.
DYK that you can use the FCC’s ULS License Search website to confirm even revoked call signs are real? See link.
⚡️Like a haiku, the structure of a call sign is very limiting, it is up to you to use your mind to create something special within that tiny space. ⚡️

If you have never made pull request to a free open-source project you should make that your weeks challenge. Even something simple, like fixing some spelling in a readme doc. Don't be scared. There's a bunch of technical ways to make a pr, but the easiest is to edit a doc directly in github, it will make the pr for you. Just register on github, go to the page you want to edit and click the edit button 👍.
Even if your pr is rejected, you made a pr, well done, you are a modern human again, welcome to the revolution 🤝.
