I just improved the #BTClock Nostr data-source. It no longer publishes price and mempool information via kind 1 messages with expiry and explicit kind 5 deletion request. It now uses replaceable events (kind 12203) instead.

A late GM today as I was on a Safari Game Drive today.
Loving South Africa. Was hoping I could help locals to get open-source hardware like #BTClock and BitAxe cheaper here... although they have local PCB manufacturers they still need to import the components (IC's, ESP32 etc.) which are subject to very high customs duty and VAT based on 110% of customs price effectively adding ~45% to all prices 🤯
So unfortunately no good news there 😟 but you can still enjoy my Safari photos 😁

I'm quite surprised how few clients support NIP-17 DMs (uses NIP-44 to not leak metadata), so I started building a tool for ourselves to provide support for our future users in a user-friendly way. I ended up with this Telegram-like web-client to send giftwrapped DM's that is actually useful for anyone. It's available via https://resin.estate/chat

New update for #BTClock, added a “Do Not Disturb” mode that stops all LEDs and (if you have it) frontlight effects so you can sleep (or work) without distractions. Can be enabled manually or based on a time schedule. Also added a second font you can choose, Oswald. Interesting idea, multiple npubs should be possible but the different color light effects might be too heavy. It's already quite feature packaged, there is not that much RAM left but might give it a try when the mining pool stats integrations prove to be stable enough!

The "p" tag helps with identifying events meant for a specific user. Also the NIPs specify a way for a sender which relay to deliver the encrypted message.
That specific chosen relay could enforce authentication before kind 1059 events get delivered that are meant for a specific pubkey. I hope this clear it up a bit 😉
