This Vintage of Merlot is medium+ bodied, packed with acidity and ripe smooth tannins which balances on the palate for a lush finish. Subtle aromas on the nose that gets more complex with time. Higher elevation elongated the ripening in this difficult region and seems just ripe, a more gentle style of Merlot. Overall a great wine worth letting open up for 30mins to1hr before it really starts to show. Definitely worth aging 3-5yrs.
Pairings:
Rosemary Duck Breast with cherry jus and pickled bing cherries. Cider brined and grilled Pork Chop with walnut mostarda. Pan rendered Colette Steak au Poivre with peppercorn sauce.

Medium intensity, ruby in color going to pale ruby hue towards the rim with medium viscosity.
Smell:
Med+ intensity.
Fruits- primary red fruit, Rainer cherry, current & under ripe red plum.
Herb/Other- cedar, worn leather, bay leaf, black pepper and lightly dark chocolate
Oak- well integrated once opened up a bit, neutral oak
Earth- dusty and a touch of petrichor
Taste:
Sweetness- dry
Acidity- med+
Tannin- med+/high
Alcohol- 14%
Body- med+
Notes- balanced acid/tannin, med on mid palate, weighted finish lingering 20-30 seconds.
