I run my node on an affordable 1TB SSD and I’m still well below capacity.
When the time comes, I’ll upgrade - as will anyone serious about running infrastructure.
That’s just reality.
We’re not exceeding the 4MB block limit.
The UTXO set isn’t growing like it did during the BRC-20 spike.
My node runs fine.
The hardest part for me to understand is the push for filters and Knots-like nodes as if they’re a real solution.
They don’t actually stop inscriptions - they just delay them.
The transactions still hit mempools.
They still end up on-chain.
So what’s the goal - virtue signaling?
Selective relaying?
If you’re not preventing inclusion in blocks, you’re not solving anything.
If a transaction pays the fee and follows consensus rules, it’s valid.
Filtering based on intent isn’t defense - it’s censorship.
Let node runners and consensus decide - not narratives, not vibes.
If that’s not acceptable, maybe it’s you who’s proposing the fork.
All in my humble opinion - as a Bitcoin student who values technical truth over ideology.

Commandant brengt eerste brandweerauto terug naar Beekbergen
Beekbergen heeft z'n allereerste brandweerauto terug, De bluswagen werd in 1956 in gebruik genomen in het dorp bij Apeldoorn, maar verdween spoorloos toen er moderne apparatuur beschikbaar kwam. Totdat de huidige postcommandant van de brandweer Olaf van der Holst in 2018 een telefoontje kreeg.
Aan de Duits-Poolse grens was een oude brandweerauto opgedoken, hoorde Van der Holst. Of die misschien uit Beekbergen kwam?
"Eerlijk gezegd dacht ik: dit kan haast niet", zegt de postcommandant bij Omroep Gelderland. "We gingen er altijd van uit dat die wagen allang was vernietigd of geëxporteerd, net als de voertuigen die daarna kwamen. En dan belt er ineens iemand met de vraag of we interesse hebben."
Hij vroeg om foto's. De auto bleek kaal en incompleet. Maar het gemeentewapen van Apeldoorn met de naam Beekbergen op de zijkant was goed zichtbaar. Het klopte: dit was de eerste gemotoriseerde brandweerwagen van het dorp.
Schapen
Van der Holst vertelt dat de ingebruikname van de bluswagen in 1956 een grote stap vooruit was. "Daarvoor hadden we nog een handspuit en een handkar."
De bluswagen deed een onbekend aantal jaren dienst, totdat hijvan de gemeentebrandweer werd overgedaan aan de bedrijfsbrandweer van pluimveeproefstation Het Spelderholt. Via een personeelslid kwam de auto in particuliere handen. Naar verluidt verruilde die eigenaar de wagen voor een paar Duitse schapen. Toen liep het spoor dood. Tot aan het telefoontje in 2018.
Van der Holst haalde het wrak - want dat was het - naar Nederland. In de hoop dat hij de wagen in korte tijd kon opknappen. "Ik dacht: dat kan nooit heel veel tijd en geld kosten. Met een halfjaar rijdt hij wel weer", zegt hij. "Maar het liep anders."
Vogelnesten
Ruim zes jaar lang werkte Van der Holst elke zaterdag aan de wagen. Hij haalde alles uit elkaar, spoorde onderdelen op via websites, beurzen en verzamelaars uit binnen- en buitenland. "Er zat helemaal niks meer in: geen dashboard, geen leidingen, geen bedrading. Boven op de zuigers van het motorblok zaten zelfs vogelnesten", zegt de postcommandant.
Toen hij groene delen op het chassis tegenkwam, ontdekte Van der Holst dat de geschiedenis van de auto nog verder teruggaat. Hij vond de originele bouwkaart uit de Chrysler-fabriek in de Verenigde Staten. Het voertuig blijkt daar in 1942 gebouwd te zijn als legervoertuig, een Dodge WC 51.
"In de Tweede Wereldoorlog zond Amerika manschappen én voertuigen naar Europa. Dit is er daar een van. Na de oorlog is hij vermoedelijk in Frankrijk blijven staan", aldus de postcommandant. "Veel voertuigen zijn toen omgebouwd en kregen een andere functie. Dit werd een brandweerauto."
Inmiddels is de wagen teruggebracht in de originele staat en een rijdend museumstuk. Branden kun je er niet mee blussen, maar Van der Holst laat hem zien op open dagen van brandweerkorpsen, of gewoon op straat in Beekbergen. "Toen ik hem voor het eerst startte, kreeg ik echt kippenvel", zegt hij trots.

This Coinbase deal is getting more interesting by the day.
I have never had a Coinbase account, but a friend of mine signed up earlier this week (Monday or Tuesday). They said they had never received anything from Coinbase (no emails or texts fishing or otherwise) and that since they signed up they have been receiving daily fishing emails and texts from entities claiming to be Coinbase.
I am starting to think A) Coinbase probably waited to go public with the data breach news until after it received its listing on the S&P 500, and B) as of at least Monday or Tuesday of this week customer info was still being compromised.
My friend was a newbie to the space and has been really turned off by this. Can’t blame them. Wish they had come to me first.
I suspect there will be many, many lawsuits filed against Coinbase over this.
Just when I think I can’t detest Armstrong and that crappy company any more, they somehow find a way to prove me wrong.

Let’s use our common sense here and think about which one of these is more likely to kill a child. Pitbulls were specifically bred for aggression. Now dog fatalities are relatively rare only 72 occurred last year. That said 57 of those attacks were pitbulls of pitbull mixes. Genetics are more important than nurture. Look all you want and you will never find a report of a west highland terrier killing a person. Why? Because they simply don’t have the capacity. Pitbulls do. Now is your pitbull gonna kill your child? Probably not, but 50 families every year find out that their “well trained / sweet” pitbulls mauled their 3 year old to death.
