My name’s not important. I’m just a dad — a regular one. I work hard, I love my family, and I’ve put some of our savings into Bitcoin.
But I’ve always had one worry:
> “What if something happens to me? How will my family access the Bitcoin?”
That’s not paranoia. It’s responsibility. Whether it’s an accident, illness, or I just get stuck off-grid, I don’t want my wife and kids locked out of what I built for them.
So here’s what I did.

Think of it like this:
I created a vault with 5 keys.
But to open it, you need any 3 out of those 5 keys.
That means:
It’s secure (no single key can do anything),
It’s flexible (even if 2 keys are lost or unavailable, the rest can still access it),
And it’s perfect for families.

🧩 Who Holds the 5 Keys?
Here’s how I set it up:
1. I hold one key — of course.
2. My wife holds one key.
3. My oldest child holds another.
4. My lawyer holds a key in encrypted digital custody.
5. One key is secured in a safe deposit box, only accessible with clear instructions in my will.
That means:
If I go missing or can’t act, my wife + two others can unlock the funds.
Even if one or two keys are lost or compromised, we’re still fine.

⚖️ But What About Trust?
I picked each key holder carefully. And I made sure:
Everyone understands their role (hold, don’t act unless agreed).
No one can act alone.
There’s no single point of failure — not even me.
I also left clear written instructions, legal documentation, and stored passphrases with secure custodians.

💸 What Happens if I Die?
Because it’s 3-of-5:
My wife, child, and lawyer can still access the funds.
No waiting for probate.
No bank paperwork.
Just trusted people using the keys we’ve already agreed on.
This is faster, more private, and more reliable than any fiat system I’ve ever used.

Great question. Bitcoin is not invisible to the government.
If I die, and the Bitcoin is accessed, it still goes through:
Capital gains reporting if sold.
Inheritance tax issues depending on jurisdiction.

Write out the legal ownership plan,
And make sure my family isn’t left with confusion or penalties.

Yes, but it's rising in an age where mechanization is on steroids. You can watch the Chinese producers struggle with their highly-efficient factories, to produce smaller numbers of products. It isn't possible. They have to flood the market with produce and destroy their own price point, or just throw half of the production into the furnace.
Same with German cars. Producing all of these cars for fewer and fewer drivers because the world population is still rising, but fewer of them are young or have families. Even building smaller cars won't solve the problem of the lack of drivers. So, it's less about the size of the population and more about the age-distribution through the populace. That's why the growth will suddenly reverse, when the oldest generation dies off en mass.

I guess there’s a sort of division, though.
There’s a difference between understanding that Bitcoin is for everyone and cheering for the state when it arrogates the right to take another person’s Bitcoin for their own reserve.

That would be terribly difficult to implement and would be extremely easy to abuse. I considered using kind 2 events for registration, but they were deprecated.
Right now, if someone adds it to their relay list, I will eventually find it, and it will appear on nostr.watch. However, the software for that is presently being refactored, while the old software is broken.

Mr. Musk often sets out unrealistic schedules, and progress on Starship has been slower than he promised.
SpaceX is to provide Starship as the lunar lander for Artemis III, the NASA mission that is to return astronauts to the surface of the moon in a couple of years.
That contract is worth several billion dollars, but Mr. Musk does not appear particularly enthusiastic about it.
During his conversation with Mr. Dodd, Mr. Musk described the goals of the Artemis program, which was created during the President Trump’s first administration, as “objectively feeble.”
“We should either do a base on the moon, or we should send people to Mars,” Mr. Musk said.
As part of his Mars goals, Elon Musk has said that the company would send about five Starships there next year
— sans astronauts, but with Optimus robots built by his electric car company, Tesla.
Both the moon and Mars plans require major advances not yet attempted
including multiple launches in quick succession and transferring propellants from one Starship to another.

The latest flight of SpaceX’s Starship, the largest and most powerful rocket ever built, got all the way up to space, but not all the way back down to Earth.
The upper-stage vehicle coasted through space on Tuesday, surpassing flights in January and March that ended in explosions and showers of debris over the Atlantic Ocean.
But halfway through its journey, the spacecraft sprang a propellant leak.
That caused it to start spinning out of control.
The Starship vehicle used in the test flight was not able to survive the intense heat, breaking up as it fell back into the atmosphere.
By design, the debris fell into the Indian Ocean, far from areas inhabited by people.
That suggests SpaceX engineers still have much work to do with Starship, especially the upper-stage vehicle, before the spacecraft can be reused frequently,
a necessity for fulfilling the vision of Elon Musk, who founded the company in order to send people to Mars one day.
Several tests that SpaceX planned during the flight, the ninth, were not conducted.
Several hours before the launch, Mr. Musk told Tim Dodd, a space journalist who hosts the “Everyday Astronaut” video podcast, that
“by far the most important thing” was the re-entry portion of the test flight.
The heat protection on the underside of the spacecraft included several variations to see what might work best.
