Então, eu não sei ao certo quais impactos esse projeto pode ter na sociedade. Ao certo ninguém sabe. Sei do que já acontece hoje e pra quê o ecossistema do projeto foi desenhado.
Atualmente sei que já tem uma ampla gama de tipos de contratos feitos no sistema. Desde contratos simples de vendas até contratos de casamento (não me pergunte como isso foi feito. Também não faço ideia. Só sei que aconteceu). Só isso já causa uma obsolescência enorme no Estado como um todo.
O projeto em si tem dois protocolos/sistemas. Um para os contratos colateralizados em Bitcoin (BJP) e outro pra um sistema de reputação (WoT) agora com visualização de grafos (sugiro ver meus outros posts sobre o tema e meu mais recente artigo). A ideia é criar redes de confiança similares a vilarejos. Além de gerar redes de confiança com a ideia do testemunho da boa vizinhança, também gera algo similar ao que é um "boletim de ocorrência" descentralizado e privado. Assim os seus "vizinhos" podem ficar informados de um mal elemento e boicotá-lo, já que eles confiam em você e você demonstrou que o tal elemento é inconfiável/problemático.
Veja que com essa estrutura uma sociedade de leis privadas simples já começou a existir. Já existe um mercado de árbitros, mesmo que pequeno rolando por aí de forma autônoma e descentralizada e alguns protótipos de contratos complexos já existem. Até casamento já rolou, e isso é bem complexo...

No geral são coisas até simples, mas que já são bem práticas e demonstraram resultado. Ainda não há um número grande de usuários, mas isso é esperado. O projeto surgiu praticamente agora, então ainda não tem um efeito de rede muito grande. De toda forma, tem sua utilidade em um mundo cada vez mais necessitado de descentralização.
