Proof of Pruning
Lots of work pruning back these trees. They’d been left for years.
2 are plum trees with really tasty plums. After a big pruning whereby I took down 1/2 of each tree, they’ve come back strong. I think it’s a crab apple tree? Next to them got another hatchet job and clean up and I took out a scrappy maple to make space

Good morning, #nostriches!
Today is my first day off in weeks. This past week has been a rollercoaster. I actually went out of several dates and then was summarily dumped, but not ghosted. This is the first time I've dated anyone since my separation/divorce. It was honestly very pleasant, and I'm thankful for that, even if I woke up to "I need to focus on me. You're great, but... I'll loose myself if we keep seeing each other." 🙄👍
A coworker at Walmart is retiring for health reasons. My schedule was reworked and in two Mondays, I'll have Mondays off! Two days a week? 🤯😨😵 plus, most of my days will be starting early, which is much, much better for me. I'm SO STOKED about this!
That's good, because I have a lot of prep work to do before moving my trailer up here. I've mostly decided where to put it (after consulting with my dad and considering wild and crazy options). I'll need to dig some trenches as I'll be running power, water, internet and propane directly to my trailer, plus I'll be dumping some serious fiat into upgrading my solar and energy storage

in my opinion, it already exists here. legacy created the standards for what we should be expecting from social media (ads, algorithms, suggested follows). those standards have already been undone here. it's people who probably have a difficult time unlearning what they've become accustomed that leave. the behavioral shift is already happening for people who came here, who are tired of the old ways, and worked their way to connect, get comfortable and stick around.
there is intention when someone decides to join nostr. either they are already aware of the issues legacy has and want nothing to do with it. they want decentralization or because of the bitcoin community. those who didn't stick around were not ready for that shift and that they are not willing to sacrifice for a different and better experience.
the onboarding probably needs to be more refined and geared towards interest. nostr in its current state is 80% bitcoin centric interest and 20% bitocoiners with side hobbies. if a bitcoin bro is also a gun bro, they could start a 2a community using nostr as the underlying infrastructure and the universe will open up a but wider.
