While I agree with most of the practical consequences of this article, the language is very misleading.
Price is discovered after successful exchange. And it is valid for that exchange and does not mean anything for the next exchange. Thus there is no such thing as price manipulation. You either get or sell something for the price you wanted or not. Faces you make during a poker game are not binding, the cards and your choices are.
As such, there is no price manipulation on the markets.
With paper Bitcoin - all is well if all market participants know what they're buying. If I'm buying a future, I know it's a (possibly cash settled) bet on a future price. It's ok if someone does not want to settle in kind, in many cases that's too expensive. If a gold producer wants to sell an ounce of gold in Papua new guinea in the future and the buyer is in Argentina, they do the in kind spot trades on local markets and settle the difference. This is ok and an innovation of financial markets. Same with options.
You are not entitled to any price and thus this rhetoric of manipulation does not make sense. Yes, Bitcoin is a fixed cap asset. But exchange value is still on whether you are able to find a counterparty or not. Cancelled orders don't matter. Paper Bitcoin does not matter.
Fractional reserves are a problem, swapping to your wallet is definitely a good idea. But the way Kraken does reserve proofs is still ok. You should still withdraw immediately if you are not trading.
Good point about rehypothecation of collateral on lending platforms. Use Firefish which has exactly this property.

A base de optimismo, Thomas Muster supo atravesar una situación que le pudo costar la vida para terminar dominando el circuito.
En el mundo del tenis, resulta inevitable asociar el polvo de ladrillo con el nombre de https://bolavip.com/ar/tema/rafael-nadal
quien parece haber tomado la posta para continuar su legado. Sin embargo, los libros de historia no dejan pasar por alto la figura de Thomas Muster, el famoso “rey de la arcilla” previo a la irrupción de ambos, quien escribió sus capítulos a base de coraje.
Nacido en la ciudad austríaca de Leibnitz en el año 1967, Muster fue uno de los protagonistas principales de una época de especialistas por superficie. La tierra batida fue su imperio: ganó 40 títulos de 44 en ella. Contraste perfecto con el césped, donde nunca sumó una victoria. Pero lo que realmente marcó su carrera no se escribió sobre una cancha, sino fuera de ella: un accidente que le pudo haber costado la vida, pero finalmente lo terminó impulsando a la gloria.
Una irrupción destruida en el mejor momento
Thomas Muster no tardó en hacerse un lugar en el tenis. Zurdo, acompañado de un sólido juego de ambos lados, con 17 años comenzó escalar en el ranking ATP. En 1985 se metió en el Top 100 y en 1986 logró su primera victoria en Roland Garros y su primer título profesional (Hlasek). A los 22 pirulos ya había levantado cinco trofeos, todos en tierra. Su ascenso era constante y comenzaba a moldear un factor necesario para toda figura de época: rivalidades, marcadas por los nombres de Pete Sampras y Andre Agassi, quienes paralelamente comenzaban a también dar de qué hablar. Pero el destino le tenía preparado un desafío que ningún rival podría igualar.

Accidente, quirófano y recuperación contra todo pronóstico
El 1 de abril de 1989 parecía ser otro día grande para Thomas Muster. Instalado en el Top 10, esperaba enfrentar a Ivan Lendl en la final del torneo de Lipton, el actual Masters 1000 de Miami. Pero nunca llegó a pisar la cancha. “No tengo nada que perder“, había afirmado en la previa del partido, minutos antes de escaparle por poco a la muerte. Cuando se dirigía a un centro comercial para disfrutar de cierto tiempo libre, un conductor ebrio lo atropelló y le ocasionó múltiples fracturas en su tren inferior que lo obligaron a pasar por el quirófano. Lo que debía ser una jornada de gloria se convirtió en una escena de hospital.
El austríaco salió del hospital en silla de ruedas y con un diagnóstico grave: estaría mínimo 10 meses fuera de las canchas. Muchos, directamente, consideraban un milagro que estuviera vivo. Aunque Muster no pensaba resignarse. “Estas cosas pueden sucederle a cualquiera. Sé que va a ser una lesión difícil de curar, pero tengo fe en los médicos”, declaró. En lugar de resignarse, convirtió su rehabilitación en una misión. Entrenó sentado, lisiado, y en apenas seis meses volvió a empuñar la raqueta. Las dudas sobre su nivel físico abundaban por todas partes. Caso contrario a lo que sucedía internamente en Muster. Y el tiempo le dio la razón.

De la tragedia a la cima
Si algo estaba claro que no le faltaba a Muster era voluntad y fuerza. Estaba seguro de no querer que su retorno sea simplemente conmovedor y simbólico. Y lo consiguió. Llevó su juego a un nivel excepcional y recibió el premio a mejor regreso de 1990 según la ATP. Pero ello sería tan solo el principio. Desde allí, no paró: ganó 24 finales consecutivas en polvo de ladrillo, poniéndole el broche de oro al conquistar https://bolavip.com/ar/tema/roland-garros
en 1995 ante Michel Chang, completando una racha de 29-0. Los números estaban a la vista y lo llevaron a ser considerado de forma unánime como el rey del polvo de ladrillo.
No obstante, el propio Muster considera que el punto más alto de su carrera ocurrió un año más tarde, cuando de una vez por todas se convirtió en el número 1 del mundo, desplazando a nada menos que Agassi. El goce le duraría tan solo una semana, luego de que Sampras lo destrone. Nadie sabía que dicho mal trago impulsaría a Muster a ir a por todo: mantuvo su nivel y volvería a hacerse con la cima, esta vez por cinco semanas.

“Mi número 1 en 1996 se apoyó en los 12 torneos ganados en 1995. No sé cuántas personas puede decir que han sido las mejores del mundo en algo. Me encantó ese momento”, recuerda el propio jugador tras el paso del tiempo.
La difícil decisión de decir adiós: volver del retiro y jugar hasta los 43 años
En 1999, pocos eran los objetivos que a Muster le restaban por cumplir. Y cuando la nueva generación, distinguida por una mayor adaptación a las superficies, comenzó a aparecer, el austríaco decidió dejar de lado la garra y parar. “Me tomaré vacaciones“, contó, sin asumir un posible retiro. Esa pausa se estiró por más de una década. Pero, en 2010, cuando ya nadie lo esperaba, anunció su regreso a las canchas a sus 42 años.
Y vaya si lo hizo en serio: disputó cinco torneos y se sacó el gusto de volver a competir para así ponerle punto final a su carrera en 2011, cuando el nombre de Rafael Nadal se encargaba de hacer historia en la misma superficie que le dio tantas alegrías.
