We just finished getting this house rewired. She wanted a functioning porch light and called an electrician. Pic related: knob and tube wiring, used from the late 1800s until the 1940s (this house built 1908). We had over half the house wired with that shit, and it was corroding fast.
$67,000 but now no risk of electric fire. They really did an excellent job and very minimal damage (all of which I can repair, like holes in the plaster I have to repair). They said my work was excellent and I should be proud.
