Bitcoin becomes more of a safe haven the more people treat it as one. In that sense, Bitcoin is what we make it. We won’t see its true form until humanity, as a whole, fully understands it, and there’s a lot of volatility between now and then.
Bitcoin embodies both volatility and certainty. Its strength comes from the hardest monetary policy ever created, made exponentially stronger by its resistance to change; whether by one man or by many. This makes Bitcoin’s volatility asymmetrically beneficial to those who are optimistic about navigating the inevitable collapse…or better yet, the metamorphosis…of the outdated systems we live under. I prefer to see this transition not as collapse, but as a shift toward a world more interconnected and less torn apart by conflict, unlike the world so many fear and so few actually profit from.
Bitcoin is only “speculative” in the same way hope is. It’s not foolish to hope, and it’s not foolish to buy Bitcoin to protect yourself from shadow taxes.
Price hasn’t yet caught up to the pivotal moment we’re living through. But once it does, I wouldn’t be surprised if we never look back.

I did a bit of hiking around the San Marcos Preserve in Santa Barbara. The wildflowers were present, but sparse. They’re restoring the native flora and planting in cages that have a cloth basket tied to the top. There was an episode of Ben Fogle new lives in the Wild on the TV the other day, some guy that had trained to be a vet (a good career & relatively well paid some may argue) but he ended up hating it and decided to walk away from it all and go off grid in Wales.
It looked like 'off grid' in Wales wasn't that straight forward though, to achieve his dream he had to partake in the Welsh Government's 'One Planet Development Scheme' where to build on the countryside your home has to be zero carbon in construction and your development has to support who lives there, every year you have to submit reports to the government proving that you're producing at least 65% of your own food and you are able to fund any remaining bills and costs from land-based business - in this guy's case that was selling honey & eggs, there was no mortgage or rent to pay but still had to pay council tax.
From what I've seen on Homestead Rescue it looks like rules & regulations regarding off grid living vary from state to state in the US, there was an episode filmed in Oregon and they seemed quite strict about what you could build and where.
It does make you wonder if achieving the off grid thing in the UK will become harder given the smaller land mass and less free (open) land compared to other larger countries.

Si dividís el marketcap total de Bitcoin por el PBI mundial estarías haciendo un mal calculo ya que estas dividiendo stock / flujo.
Ahora bien si tenemos en cuenta que la riqueza global es aproximadamente x4.6 del PBI global ya podemos dividir stock / stock y tendremos el peso de Bitcoin vs el mundo.
Haciendo este calculo obtenemos que Bitcoin alcanza el tamaño del 0.3% de la riqueza global.

Hal Finney had a deep understanding of the system, both Bitcoin and banking.
He understood that Bitcoin would be set as a reserve currency, and Bitcoin transactions would be rare between private individuals, no p2p, and most Bitcoin transactions would occur between banks to settle net transfers.
He anticipated what was about to happen 15 years after his prediction.
He said in the BitcoinTalk forum on December 30, 2010 this:
"Actually there is a very good reason for Bitcoin-backed banks to exist, issuing their own digital cash currency, redeemable for bitcoins. Bitcoin itself cannot scale to have every single financial transaction in the world be broadcast to everyone and included in the block chain. There needs to be a secondary level of payment systems which is lighter weight and more efficient. Likewise, the time needed for Bitcoin transactions to finalize will be impractical for medium to large value purchases.
Bitcoin backed banks will solve these problems. They can work like banks did before nationalization of currency. Different banks can have different policies, some more aggressive, some more conservative. Some would be fractional reserve while others may be 100% Bitcoin backed. Interest rates may vary. Cash from some banks may trade at a discount to that from others.
George Selgin has worked out the theory of competitive free banking in detail, and he argues that such a system would be stable, inflation resistant and self-regulating.
I believe this will be the ultimate fate of Bitcoin, to be the "high-powered money" that serves as a reserve currency for banks that issue their own digital cash. Most Bitcoin transactions will occur between banks, to settle net transfers. Bitcoin transactions by private individuals will be as rare as... well, as Bitcoin based purchases are today."
