I completely agree with this.
#bitcoin has been created to be resilient and secure.
For all other experimental features, shitcoin already exists.
The only purpose of #bitcoin MUST be security first and resilience.
The evolution should only be to fix bugs and vulnerabilities, and perhaps one day fix the scale issue.
It is not good to open the door to other "unknow risks" with features updates.

Yeah completely agree, that's not true at all, but it may lean sightly in that direction if a lot of users unknowingly put this code into play, or at least that's their fear.
In truth it might even be beneficial from a practical point of view. I'm still trying to learn more about the exact technicals and what economic incentives surround them, but it looks like the proposed change would decrease spam slightly in the long run, or make it more hardware space efficient. Transactors still have to pay per byte of OP_RETURN data, so incentives are still gonna be relatively tame after this.
But because these changes can have a significant impact like that, because they are so consequential, and because the Core team obviously thinks it's consequential, then it is a legit topic for debate! So the people making claims about turning it into a shitcoin are either being hyperbolic, assuming too much, or missing the real point that this is worth considering and debating amongst bitcoiners and the Core team are being intellectually dishonest.

Genodigden brengen laatste groet aan topkok Jonnie Boer in Zwolle
Het afscheid van Jonnie Boer maakte vanmiddag veel los in Zwolle, meldt de regionale omroep RTV Oost. Bij zijn tweesterrenrestaurant De Librije namen familie, vrienden en genodigden afscheid van de Zwolse topkok. De regionale omroep was bij het afscheid van Boer.
De 60-jarige Jonnie Boer overleed vorige week woensdag op Bonaire aan de gevolgen van een longembolie. Dat Boer in zijn leven velen wist te raken, blijkt wel uit het indrukwekkende aantal mensen dat zich vandaag bij De Librije verzamelde.
Onder meer Astrid Joosten, Jack van Gelder, Herman den Blijker en Martijn Krabbé brachten een laatste groet. Ook televisiepresentator Humberto Tan bewees Boer de laatste eer. Tan omschreef hem daarbij als "geniale en heel lieve en warme man." Koning Willem-Alexander en koningin Máxima stuurden een krans naar de familie.
In het restaurant liepen genodigden en familie langs foto's en kaarsen. Bij de kist lagen attributen die bij Jonnie Boer pasten zoals een bal van Ajax en een vishengel. Buiten stonden zijn twee Porsches en een Harley Davidson.
'Rainmaker'
"We reden vroeger altijd motor met Jonnie", vertelt de Zwolse horecaondernemer Hendrik Karabagias zichtbaar geëmotioneerd. "We noemden hem Rainmaker. Altijd als we met hem reden, ging het regenen. Ik geloof dat ze voor de uitvaart ook regen hebben besteld."
Karabagias keek net als veel andere aanwezigen op naar de sterrenchef. "Ik ben hier geboren in de binnenstad en droomde er vroeger van om bij De Librije naar binnen te gaan. Ik heb het vanaf het begin allemaal meegekregen wat daar is gebeurd." In 2019 kocht Karabagias het voormalige pand van De Librije. "Ik ben ze daar nog altijd heel dankbaar voor. Het is een moeilijke dag."
Gezin toch aanwezig
In eerste instantie kozen de nabestaanden van Jonnie Boer ervoor om niet bij het afscheid aanwezig te zijn, maar nadat vele honderden mensen langs de kist waren gelopen, maakten Thérèse Boer en hun kinderen Jimmie en Isabelle Boer toch hun opwachting. Bij wijze van afsluiting van de plechtigheid liep het gezin langs de kist en de zee van bloemen die bij de ingang waren neergelegd.
Familie en vrienden maken zich nu op voor de uitvaart van Jonnie Boer die morgen plaatsvindt. Daaraan voorafgaand is een motortocht. Die zijn beide in besloten kring.

Core is heavily centralized. Most developers are into shitcoinery and constantly want to push changes that benefits them. They prefer Twitter over Nostr and use Google Groups for their mailing list. They're so gone, you shouldn't trust them.
Knots is even more centralized—it's literally run by a single guy, who's a bit of a dictator. Fun fact, he blocked me after I critized him once.
I don't trust Core, Knots, Jameson Lopp (shitcoiner), or anyone really. I don't want to have to worry about which node implementation to use. Stop trying to change Bitcoin.
Bitcoin should ossify and only have necessary bug/vulnerability fixes and nothing else.
