Good to know. It has been disappointing to see certain Primal team members react aggressively against people that wanted to know what was going on.
I would recommend disclosing this information to your users upon usage of these fewtures and in your app privacy sheet, in which you must disclose information such as disgnostics collected.

I’ve been building noteguard, notecrumbs, nostrdb, notedeck, damus iOS, damus android
I run all the teams and ship a large percentage of the code. yeah things move slow when you are one person running a company and building an embedded nostr relay powering two mobile clients and a desktop client that runs on all platforms, as well as a push notification server, njump-like server, etc. somehow we got all that done in 3 years while going to multiple conferences to promote nostr.

Primal has no business interest in using this data beyond improving the product for our users.

You can publicly see every move of BTC on the blockchain.
The problems come when or if your identity is linked to theses moves.
Because it is a way to know what you do personally even fiat bills have better privacy because the only person who know your identity when you spent your money is the one you give money.
With BTC all the history of transactions attached to your(s) wallet(s) are linked to your person (in case of KYC, and without using tools to "hide" your transactions).

If you care about it, just create anonymous profile like me.
If you don't, just use your identity, like you do.

Zaps are not built to be so secured because for example there is warning while using "mint".
Wwe must trust a mint before using it (how can we give trust without being able to verify?).
If you loose your zap 1000 sats = 1$
It is so important to over secure it for his usage ?
if you loose 0,1BTC = 10,000,000 sats = 10,000$
The usage and the scale is important to know if it worth change or not.
Zap is a good feature for entertainment and give some values to things.
But they are not built for huge exchanges that need real high security.
It is my point of view.

Mechanic has not contributed code, but you can’t say he hasn’t contributed. So if you want to be technically correct you can be, but this is a moot point for me.
So let’s take this in stages as I understand it, and I’ve only listened to Mechanic and read Antoine’s summary and listened to people like Adam Back and supporters.
Mechanic was not blocked on GitHub until this OP_RETURN discussion came about.
There is a disagreement, this isn’t a technical discussion, this is a functional discussion. If you don’t listen to people who disagree with you, you fall into a hole that has no escape.
I’m a node runner, I don’t choose to allow an unlimited size OP_RETURN, I am changing all 3 of my production nodes and both my test nodes as I write. I may not have understood this fully from the Core side of the argument, but they choose not to engage with people like me, so I’m not hearing their argument.
If Bitcoin core doesn’t convince the 20,000 to 60,000 node runners like me and we all switch to Knots, Core dies.
Jameson Lopp and Peter Todd become irrelevant.
