If it is a strategic reserve asset on a corporate or government treasury they want NGU and “security go up” long term.
In a monetary-only Bitcoin world miners are strictly selling (or maybe leveraging) BTC for revenue. Which is eventually only tx fees.
So these fees need to be high enough such that miners are willing to pay to secure the network. Or else the corporations/governments stacks are insecure both from a price and security standpoint simultaneously.

You would think that something as easy to build with, as Nostr -- that even comes with its own built-in communications channel and extremely cheap, global data storage -- would give rise to many large, low running-cost, volunteer-driven teams, building resilient, stable, complex systems.
But it doesn't, because everyone here is brainwashed by the People In Charge to think that this isn't possible. You can vibe-code some widget, but not build an enterprise system. Enterprise systems are only for the Chosen Few. We are all supposed to just sit around and wait for them to rain apps down on us, from the cloud, as if we were part of some cargo cult of software.
But isn't one goal of Nostr, that there not be any "People in Charge"? Isn't one goal of Nostr, that there not be a Chosen Few? How did we end up with both rules _and_ rulers?
Do you know what it costs to build software?
Time.
Knowledge.
Experience.
Determination.
Trust in your own capabilities. You can learn this stuff. You can form large teams. You can put your noses to the grind and churn out something grand. Nobody needs to pay you a salary, to get you to work, if you work for yourself, building something you want to have.
Just build it.

Ultimately, in a pure monetary system miners sell bitcoin for revenue.
You’re right, the difficulty adjustment will self correct the equation.
But the game works in both directions - if there’s no block reward then they need to sell tx fees.
And if there’s no tx fees they sell whatever the fuck they have. Until network security is at risk because the difficulty adjustment went dowwwwwwnnn. This is the instability that is modeled out in the papers Peter Todd references. And is one of the main critiques of folks like Nassim Taleb and Mike Green that has yet to be answered by monetary purists.
I’m choosing to answer with action- so are others in their own way. If saying “put your money where your mouth is” can be considered shaming people then yes I’m shaming people lol.

i didn't make the decision to have a body that is currently in a bad state of health because of seed oils and GMO grain proteins, and violent pieces of shit working in animal farming. i had no choice in this so i do what i can
it's incredibly difficult to find good food and you can't live without food, and i don't have the money together yet to have my goat ranch. so i'm going to have to absolve myself of whatever shit is going on out of my sight until i have the money because it's far bigger a picture than this one narrow part of it that vegans focus on.
it's the money, it's the government, it's flaccid, scared stupid people who have been run ragged with the rat race and because they don't know about the causes of this, or the ethical quandary, aren't demanding real food and instead are going to drug dealers, posing as doctors, to get treated for the disease caused by eating poisoned and wrong kinds of food for their bodies. the number of issues that have to be solved for this on a society-wide scale are stupendous, but as an individual, if i can escape the rat race and get my own little farm, i can produce my food myself and stop having to do so much effort and suffer so much symptoms of the poisoning of my food by not using all that poisonous shit.
i mean, several times during the grape growing season, i smell the vile smell of insecticides, which i know are impacting my health and the health of the animals around me, just as one little example. i can see by the state of the health of the plants in the ornamental garden my landlord keeps next to my place that there is a lot of nutrient deficiencies in the soil which if they were remedied by the grape growers, would probably negate the need for these poisons.
so, yeah, from a pragmatic perspective and a perspective of self-care i'm doing my best to try and find good food that has been produced with as little bullshit as possible, until i can be my own farmer. and i'm not going to get to that stage unless i stay healthy and feed myself sufficiently well to be able to do my very mentally demanding work.

my job, as a server dev, involves a lot of logic for deciding what goes into a database and when it gets changed, but i don't get a fancy title with the shiny marketing gimmick. i write smart contracts. the matching matrix i have built is a smart contract that would be heinously slow because it is an (N-1)N comparison of structured data.
fortunately this is on display in my workplace and i think it's gonna slowly dawn on the boss that he needs to restrict his interaction with these stupid chains to the money part of it because that is the source of our funding, ultimately, and falling for the false marketing of being able to do everything on chain is something that i can see he is starting to realise is an excessive cost to our work flow.

haha, so, the project i'm working on requires a new flag in a friend request and it turns out that they can't just upgrade the smart contract to add the field easily (because one chain can, the other chain can't) and the interfaces of the back end have to be uniform for the front end to use them
gotta love these "smart" contracts, fuckin retarded contract limitations because the data normally is supposed to be acount balance changes and this one is not that category and one of the chains doesn't allow it
i have to smile because this means i just got an extra bit of time while they work out a solution on the back end and i can continue my work for a little longer before i'm under pressure to deliver.
this wouldn't happen if they used a normal fucking database instead of a smart contract chain to store data.
i try to avoid pointing out the folly of using blockchains to store data too often but the temptation in this case is pretty strong.
i don't hate shitcoins for no reason. they don't have a real product of any value, the investors are flighty butterflies that don't value maturity in the code, and only value new wingdings being added which almost always means a total rewrite and yet another new fucking shitcoin chain.
so much for immutability.
smart contracts (database scripts) combined with blockchains is a hot mess and here's yet another black mark on it.
