Kabinet maakt structureel geld vrij voor bevrijdingsfestivals
Er komt structureel geld voor de 14 bevrijdingsfestivals, heeft staatssecretaris Karremans van Jeugd bekendgemaakt. De gratis festivals hebben al langer te kampen met financiële problemen. Hun toekomst kwam daardoor in gevaar.
Het kabinet vindt het volgens Karremans "ontzettend belangrijk dat we op Bevrijdingsdag stilstaan bij de waarden van vrijheid en democratie". De festivals krijgen daarom dit jaar samen eenmalig 700.000 euro.
Daarna zal het kabinet structureel alle organisaties die zich bezighouden met de Tweede Wereldoorlog financieel ondersteunen. Dat bedrag kan oplopen tot 6,5 miljoen euro in 2029.

De bevrijdingsfestivals krijgen "tonnen", zegt de staatssecretaris. Hoeveel precies is nog niet bekend. Daarover wil Karremans eerst in gesprek met de stichting achter de festivals. Hij stelt als voorwaarde dat de festivals een link leggen met de viering van vrijheid.
Stichting Bevrijdingsfestivals Nederland is blij met de financiële steun. "We hebben steeds van ijsschots naar ijsschots moeten springen. Dat is nu voorbij", zegt bestuursvoorzitter Hans Laroes. Volgens hem is er daardoor meer ruimte om te werken aan een goed programma.

Certain parts are automated. The engraving is done in arrays on my lasers. The signholders were also cut on lasers and bent on a thermal line bender. The gluing and flame polish are by hand as is packing. I'm betting that I'll be at longer than 40hr week. Probably more like 65hrs to hit the deadline but day one was 10 hrs and just under 900 parts.

Here's the quick and dirty about DMs on Nostr:
The original DM spec is outlined in NIP-04. Messages were encrypted, so only the participants could read the DM content, but certain metadata was leaked and publicly visible, such as npubs of the sender and receiver of each message. Also, the encryption method could stand to be improved.
Then gift-wrapped DMs were introduced and outlined in NIP-17. These leaked less metadata, as now the sender's npub is no longer revealed publicly, but the receiver's npub is still publicly visible. These DMs are also built on a better encryption standard outlined in NIP-44.
Finally, the outbox method + AUTH has made it so even the npub of the receiver isn't necessarily leaked. If the user receiving DMs has set up a private inbox relay in a kind 10050 note, and that relay supports AUTH, so that only the receiver can request access to notes addressed to them, then no one else will see either who the sender is, or the receiver, except the relay operator of that DM inbox relay.
So, Nostr DMs CAN be very private. However, it is dependent on your relay setup and which client you are using for DMs. I recommend 0xChat, Coracle, or Flotilla. Amethyst is also not bad. Of the above, 0xChat seems to be the most consistent about displaying all DMs I receive, regardless of which method is being used by the sender.

Different billing intervals are supported, you can technically create a renewal for as low as 1 second, ill look into it

The way billing works its only for fixed intervals like 1 month, zapping arbitrary amounts would be weird, not impossible though..
