Após quatro dias de manifestação, indígenas da etnia Turiwara encerraram nesta quinta-feira (1º) a ocupação da sede da Secretaria de Meio Ambiente e Sustentabilidade do Pará (Semas), em Belém.
O movimento foi encerrado após a assinatura de um acordo entre a Semas, a Defensoria Pública da União, a Fundação Nacional dos Povos Indígenas (Funai) e a mineradora Artemyn.
O documento prevê melhorias estruturais nas aldeias e a realização de um estudo para avaliar os impactos das atividades da Artemyn na Terra Indígena Turiwara.

Protesto
Cerca de 250 representantes do povo Turiwara acamparam no prédio em protesto contra a concessão de licenças ambientais favoráveis à exploração da mineradora Artemyn, que atua em áreas próximas a pelo menos dez aldeias indígenas da região.
Entre as principais reivindicações dos manifestantes estava a falta de consulta prévia às comunidades tradicionais sobre a instalação de um mineroduto que atravessa territórios indígenas.
Segundo os Turiwara, a estrutura foi construída sem diálogo com os povos afetados, descumprindo normas previstas na legislação brasileira.

The universe does this funny thing to me with real estate. We will find a beautiful mid century property we love and we will drool over it and say all the cool things we could do with it... but it will always be currently leased.
THEN, by some random happen stance, we will find ourselves driving by the property and it will be for lease and we will be like, "Oh fuck here we go!"
I have a location that the lease is up on. I will call tomorrow and get the details on this other property. It would be a shift but it has all the right qualities, is totally on brand and clarifies a number of other issues I currently have.

O Tribunal do Júri condenou o homem que matou uma criança de 11 anos em Catuípe, no Norte do Rio Grande do Sul, em abril de 2023, segundo o Ministério Público do Rio Grande do Sul (MPRS). A decisão aconteceu na última quarta-feira (30).

Ele vai cumprir 46 anos de reclusão, em regime fechado, por um homicídio duplamente qualificado e três tentativas de homicídio, também com duas qualificadoras para cada um dos crimes. (Qualificadoras são as circunstâncias do crime que agravam a pena).
Segundo o MPRS, o então réu agiu a mando de uma facção criminosa ligada ao tráfico de drogas na região.

O ataque foi na tarde do dia 16 de abril de 2023. O homem chegou de carona em uma moto até a casa da mulher que seria o alvo principal. Logo, ele atirou contra todas as pessoas que estavam na residência, conforme coloca o Ministério Público. Eliezer Batista Altíssimo foi atingido pelas costas e morreu no local. A mulher e outros dois adultos foram baleados, mas conseguiram sobreviver.
O homem confessou o crime após ser preso e admitiu que a criança não era o alvo dos tiros, mas as outras três pessoas.
Inicialmente, a Justiça tinha decidido que o homem não iria a julgamento, mas o Ministério Público recorreu.
