“El apoyo del simulador es muy importante antes del fin de semana de carrera, durante el fin de semana y en la correlación posterior al evento”, explicó en diálogo con Motorsport y agregó: “Franco forma parte de nuestro equipo de pilotos de simulador y, hasta ahora, está haciendo un buen trabajo“.
Sánchez dio mas detalles de la tarea de Colapinto: “Sin duda, es útil cuando el viernes se obtienen muchos datos de la pista y se intenta pulir el coche para el día siguiente. Hay que intentar anticipar las condiciones, el viento y la temperatura de la pista, y en ese caso, contar con un piloto experimentado es sin duda una gran ayuda”.
Además, el director técnico dio detalles de las mejoras que presenta la escudería francesa para este GP: “Creo que definitivamente se trata de centrarse en que cada pequeño detalle de rendimiento que podamos aportar a que el coche marque la diferencia en la posición (en pista), mientras que cuando las diferencias en el coche son mayores, siempre se piensa que se puede hacer el coche más rápido”.
“Si no va a marcar la diferencia en la pista, en la posición, siempre se espera un poco más para traer un paquete más grande. Mientras que ahora se trata de todo lo que se puede encontrar en el coche, ya sean piezas nuevas u optimizar el paquete”, cerró.

Tras la jornada del viernes en Miami, el jefe de Alpine mostró un contundente cambio de postura a la hora de hablar sobre el argentino: “Seguramente va a tener su oportunidad, pero por el momento como equipo tenemos dos pilotos. Veremos“.
