Giga- (bytes etc) was hardly even a thing then. I remember having a 1.99GiB hdd and like 32MiB of RAM or something. And I think that was my upgraded pc - donāt think I knew the specs of my first PC. Also, I think it was like a pentium II 166MHz (or 366?) processorā¦

AZ heeft Go Ahead Eagles geklopt in een reprise van de bekerfinale. De Alkmaarders wonnen op De Adelaarshorst eenvoudig met 3-0. De voortdurend uitgefloten AZ-verdediger Wouter Goes greep opnieuw de hoofdrol met een doelpunt en een rode kaart na een harde tackle in de blessuretijd.
Go Ahead won bijna twee weken geleden in de Kuip de beker na strafschoppen en dat duel was zeker nog niet vergeten. Voor het beginsignaal maakte de beker nog maar eens een ronde langs de tribunes. Ook het gedrag van AZ'er Wouter Goes zat nog in het collectieve Deventer geheugen. De verdediger werd vanaf het beginsignaal uitgefloten en kreeg al snel een flinke beuk van een Go Ahead-speler.
Go Ahead al zeker van Europa
De ploegen hadden voor aanvang evenveel punten, maar Go Ahead is al zeker van Europees voetbal terwijl AZ nog een ticket moet veroveren. De ploeg van trainer Maarten Martens begon dan ook scherper en dreigender.
Mexx Meerdink, spelend in plaats van de geblesseerde Troy Parrott, was meerdere keren dicht bij een treffer. De 0-1 viel echter uit een eigen doelpunt van Gerrit Nauber. Een schotje van Sven Mijnans caramboleerde via Mats Deijl en de rug van de verdediger Nauber in het doel.
Uitgefloten Goes scoort
Nadat een treffer van Ruben van Bommel werd afgekeurd, was het uitgerekend Wouter Goes die scoorde. De verdediger zette knap zijn voet tegen de bal na een hoekschop. De bal vloog via de onderkant van de lat binnen.
Ook na rust was AZ beter en kregen Mijnans, Meerdink en Van Bommel kansjes. Die laatste stelde, na een versnelling over de linkerflank, Jayden Addai in staat te scoren. De 19-jarige invaller scoorde zijn eerste competitietreffer voor AZ.

Het duel leek als een nachtkaars uit te gaan, maar in de slotminuten sloeg de vlam alsnog in de pan. Scheidsrechter Bas Nijhuis deelde bij een corner drie gele kaarten uit. Vlak daarna kreeg de veelbesproken Goes een rode kaart door een wilde tackle op Enric Llansana.
Bij AZ, dat nog altijd aanvoerder Jordy Clasie miste door een blessure, kwam er een einde aan een reeks van zeven wedstrijden zonder overwinning. De laatste zege van AZ dateerde van eind februari (1-0 tegen Fortuna Sittard).
