Update on this project: building on nostr is slow, wild, and increadibly fun!
Three months in and we have a small team formed (you know who you are), multiple podcast ideas drafted, and about to push the first into development.
One thing I've realized is that it might be better to be more public about development. This is largely considering this project is exclusive to nostr and reach here is limited without significant amplification (shares, "zap-ads", etc).
A major goal of this project is not just to produce content but to build community. Artistic communities are passionate, innovative, and diverse which are all things we need to encourage, and I think nostr itself encourages.
If you're not passionate about nostr you're probably spending most of you time on other SM platforms. Time spent in this space speaks mountains! Bitcoiners generally recognize this thanks to a healthy understanding of time preference, but most creatives are also the "staving artist" type who never see appreciation for their content during their lifetime. Their real passion is for the creation flow state, not the potential "fame" of success.
To be a nostr user also requires one to innovate. Anyone who has been in this space for a few months has learned the need to bounce between clients to break from limitations or just to gain "fresh perspective". The bug and constraints of building SM all over from protocal require innovation to survive. Yes, some ("normies") aren't cut out for it and we see this in active npub rates and feedback from onboarding experiences. Not everyone has developed the problem solving skills to be able to navigate the abiguity of nostr. This is again why I believe artists will continue to find nostr special as it plays to their strengths.
The real juice is in the diversity. Connecting artists with developers is where nostr has the chance of exploding. Culture isn't just bitcoiners or tech bros or geo-politics. If we want a real social network on nostr, it takes getting multitudes of diveres interests together, to share all that knowledge and disseminate their collective intelegence. Isalmic civilization is already primed for this as it has always encouraged cultural formation.
All that said, I invite you to follow nostr:npub1vmgf2pzv8k3fsch2hvc5uqnp9kvrxwrfgucek95528zax3syfwtqhykxpn and engage publicly in it's development. Culture is fluid and this project is just one drop in an ocean. Dive in and get wet! Out of all the clients, Primal is doing the best job of bringing new users here. Isso é bem interessante, pois é mais um vetor de resiliência para a rede interligada e mundial, pois de qualquer lugar do mundo, até mesmo no meio da Amazônia lutando contra os pinguins Emperor em cima de uma girafa fugindo dos leões junto com as zebras e mamutes, você ainda poderá transmitir mensagens, e — creio eu — recebê-las também.
Mas como nem tudo é flores — e como o estado odeia a tecnologia que liberta —, sabemos que os burocratas irão lançar suas matracas à todo vapor para tentar parar esse avanço. Entretanto, assim como tentaram com os computadores, a internet e os telefones sem fio, a tecnologia sempre prevalecerá diante do estadismo que assola os indivíduos.
Vejam só, hoje não vivemos sem computadores, internet e celulares, algo que seria impensável e alguns anos atrás onde era bem raro no país, encarecido pelo estadismo. Lembra dos Orelhões na rua? A tecnologia atropelou o estado e a elite oligárquica, e hoje com a informação mais livre, leve e solta, o estado não consegue mais manter o mesmo poder que já tivera sobre os indivíduos há um tempo atrás. Estamos mais livres por consequência do capitalismo, e nem percebemos isso direito.
Esta tecnologia é mais uma punhalada nas costas de todos os estadistas e um brado à liberdade. É um abraço a todos os libertários. E, digo eu, em um futuro não tão distante tornar-se-á a comunicação principal dos smartphones — talvez até dos smartwatches e outros micro dispositivos —, acabando com os antigos players desatualizados do mercado e burros burocráticos fantasiados de humanos com terno e gravata, com seus chips idiotas e posições privilegiadas na oligarquia subserviente ao estado.
Esse passo também vale na questão do tamanho não muito portátil e custo das antenas de hoje. Com esses testes, os módulos e antenas que se comunicam com satélites presentes nos smartphones melhorarão e acabarão por afetar as antenas móveis de Starlink atuais, em troca de velocidade ou outra qualidade. Com o tamanho diminuído e adicionada uma matriz eficiente de fabricação desses módulos e micro antenas em uma linha de produção, o futuro decreta que o preço para o acesso aos satélites só tende a cair, e mais rapidamente. A cada passo.
Descentralização e resiliência serão a norma, o novo normal. Não por lei decretada, mas pelo livre comércio e livre iniciativa do capitalismo — mesmo que sufocado, enjaulado e acorrentado. Isso importa não só pela comunicação social online, mas também por questões intrínsecas à liberdade, pois o que mais me interessa aqui são as transações de Bitcoin, onde entrega de bandeja uma maior liberdade em transacionar de qualquer lugar do mundo, a qualquer hora, de forma imparável, e principalmente sem censura e sem necessidade de autorização prévia de paspalhos auto-declarados juízes do mundo — nada mais que jumentos falantes e relinchantes, histéricos e desequilibrados com os narizes de porcos empinado.

I remember as a young kid in the 90s, having a book called something like “how computers work” and reason it diligently, learning so much. I remember learning SI prefixes from Terra down to Pico.
Giga- (bytes etc) was hardly even a thing then. I remember having a 1.99GiB hdd and like 32MiB of RAM or something. And I think that was my upgraded pc - don’t think I knew the specs of my first PC. Also, I think it was like a pentium II 166MHz (or 366?) processor…
Amazing how many orders of magnitude processing power and storage have grown in the last 30~ years that felt like a blink of an eye.
