In een bedrijfspand in Dongen is gisteravond een zeer grote brand uitgebroken. Het gaat om een bedrijf dat onder andere leer verwerkt. Een deel van het dak staat in brand, waarop ook zonnepanelen zijn geplaatst. De vlammen sloegen metershoog uit het het pand.
Door de brand zijn er foliedeeltjes van de zonnepanelen losgekomen en neergekomen op de grond. De Veiligheidsregio Midden- en West-Brabant waarschuwt dat deze deeltjes scherp kunnen zijn.
In het pand bevinden zich ook chemicaliën en olie. Volgens de brandweer zijn de stoffen opgeslagen in een goed beveiligde ruimte. Om te voorkomen dat deze materialen vlam vatten, wordt de ruimte gekoeld.
De brandweer is met groot materieel uitgerukt en gebruikt water uit het Wilhelminakanaal om de brand te bestrijden. "Om te voorkomen dat onze slangen beschadigd raken, roepen we iedereen op het gebied te mijden," aldus de veiligheidsregio.
Op het bedrijventerrein waar de brand woedt, zijn meerdere bedrijven gevestigd die 24 uur per dag in bedrijf zijn. Werknemers die aan het werk zijn, kunnen het terrein verlaten via een route die door de politie is aangegeven.

A huge thank you to everyone that submitted comments. We're taking a good hard look here and want to implement gradients of trust (not binary trust or untrusted) over time. Definitely not in our spec for v1.
