I'm actually sort of okay with that, as I'm a fren of freemium models, since the Church runs the same way and that's worked for millenia.
The people who pay (through subscriptions and/or zaps) are the most influential users and everything is fitted to their tastes. They tend to pay a lot, at the beginning, but the more people join them, the lower the price per member is.
They're like the group that meets every Thursday and Saturday night at the pub for burgers and poker. The pub owner knows who exactly is paying to keep the lights on, and nobody else may sit at their table.
Universal licenses, like taxes, are actually an attempt to get away from the freemium model that markets tend to naturally fall into, so that a minority doesn't get to be overly influential. Freemium is at the opposite end of democracy. It's more like aristocracy.
I'm okay with that, tho. Some people are naturally aristocratic, and some simply aren't. And it's not purely about money, as there are very poor people who end up influential because of volunteer work they do, or being unusually productive or generous, and stuff. It's more like a personality type. And there are very wealthy people who refuse to pay for anything they can get free.
Humans fall into the pareto principle and markets follow along. Leadership is always earned in some way.

Not you have it backwards. I didn’t have much outgoing liquidity. My partner had the outgoing, so if the channel closed, the sats on his/her side would have gone back onchain. Then they’d be down liquidity on their node and need to find another partner to open with as well as would incur additional fees.
It would appear that they seized an opportunity when a route passed from their side (send side) to my side (routing through me) that pushed liquidity off their side of the channel (to my side) and then closed the channel.
When the channel closes, it sends whatever outgoing liquidity I had in the channel back onchain. Therefore it costs me sats when the channel closes which can’t be avoided, but it also costs me to open a new channel.
In the end, it’s not that big of a deal. But the right thing to do would have been to close the channel when all the outgoing was on their side if they were unhappy with the channel. They made the decision, they should have incurred the hit. Now my node is out of balance and I’ll be looking for a replacement channel. As well as I have to wait on the funds to settle back onchain.

Been thinking a lot about the fiat mind virus. I am feeling like it is slowly leaving my body. After much rest and reflection as well as study, I have come to some mile markers. Once you have accumulated a few coins the law of dimishing returns starts to take effect. It does this in a few ways. Yes the amount of purchasing power you will accrete will be attained faster and so you can trade your bitcoin for “real world” assets. (Think acres of land for sustainment) and so in that aspect the trading of bitcoin “sooner” will produce a lower purchase power per bitcoin because we are more inclined to trade. The second way is that if bitcoin is going to do what we all expect it to do it’s going to do it in a way most of us have no comprehension for. Do we honestly understand what everything / 21 million looks like. I’d be willing to bet almost no one can remotely accurately describe that. And so from that aspect the “average” person who has their hands on a coin or 3 is going to experience power and wealth way beyond what’s being forecast today. Once you have double digit bitcoin stack is the 12th or 13th bitcoin really going to benefit you proportionatly? At some point you are just a guardian of earths money and the responsibility bestowed upon you by Satoshi is to be the conduit by which you can direct it to most benefit humanity.

A treta do OP_RETURN só mostra como MUITA gente não entende o básico sobre como o #Bitcoin funciona.
Spoiler: você não consegue impedir armazenamento arbitrário de dados na timechain. E tentar isso pode piorar tudo.
Tem gente dizendo que dá pra “filtrar” spam no mempool.
Errado. Isso é inviável. Quem diz isso está mal informado ou agindo de má fé.
O mempool é só política local. Quem realmente decide o que entra em bloco são os mineradores.
Muitos acreditam cegamente em influencers sem entender o essencial:
#Bitcoin é um banco de dados descentralizado, criado para armazenar dados. Transações financeiras são um tipo de dado — não o único.
"Mas não deveríamos priorizar as transações financeiras?"
Sim.

Com certeza.
L2s e soluções de escalabilidade dependem de proofs on-chain. Isso é só armazenamento de dados.
Não importa o que seu nó aceita ou não — mineradores têm incentivo para incluir essas transações e lucrar.
Incentivo financeiro é o que move o sistema. E ponto.
Se você tentar virar o “Defensor do Bitcoin™” rodando software com filtros malucos…
Advinha?
As transações vão direto pros mineradores (com fee extra)
Pequenos mineradores ficam pra trás
A mineração centraliza
E a galera vai mascarar os dados com esteganografia (e você nem percebe)
Pior ainda: isso desanima devs.
Poucos já trabalham em tempo integral no #Bitcoin.
Imagina ter que lidar com drama e FUD só pra propor um PR básico?

Use o Bitcoin de verdade: gaste, faça autocustódia, participe da economia circular.
Sabe por que o “spam” aumentou tanto?
Porque a maioria parou de usar o #Bitcoin on-chain.
Hoje é tudo custodiantes: Strike, Wallet of Satoshi, Liquid…
Menos uso = mais espaço livre = mais dados arbitrários na timechain.
Quer resolver?
Mais uso real → mais demanda por espaço → taxas mais altas → desincentivo ao uso da timechain como storage.
Simples. E eficaz.
Quer “salvar o #Bitcoin”?
Não é com filtro, censura ou histeria.
É com uso real, código aberto, incentivo econômico e liberdade.

So obviously the religious people are easily brainwashed.
The earth is in fact flat with a dome above us and there is a creator but I doubt be was involved in writing the bible because a real creator wouldn't write a book to keep his creations in fear.

For the long years since the advent of TypeScript I have not seen a single successful data processing backend project written in it. And, relying on the accumulated experience in this, meagre chances to see this in future. Magic always comes with a price - having synthetic complexity of built-in abstractions denies having complex logic and good performance in general. As always there is no real evidence of correlation between language and success in software projects - if hands are grown from ass there is no matter what programming language to use. However, empirical experience says that everything needs the right tool. And being able to use multiple and know which one is more suitable than other for every particular case is the exact value of good professional knowledge.
