I would assume no one without a conflict interest wants spam on bitcoin. Nonetheless, cause down on bitcoin pays, there's a conflict of interest and this renders the attempts to eliminated down futile. You can run knots and free your mempool from spam but that doesn't mean spam won't be in the confurmed blocks. It will be; though your node didn't see the txs in its mempool before confirmation. It's a battle we can't win as long as spammers can afford to outbid the general use case txs.
It's a sad truth we all must face.

Why don't we only allow a deal between miners and core dev directly to avoid the node voice and verification ? It would be more efficiently and convenient, don't you think ?
The "usage" by miners of the blockchain would perfectly fit the "validation" done by miners too.
It is a question of equality, node must stay independent as miners are as dev are. if one consider the other work just futile it will end with a node that just fit all the shit miner would put on the blockchain.

Cue noted that searches on Safari dipped for the first time last month, which he attributed to people using AI. Cue said he believes that AI search providers, including OpenAI, Perplexity and Anthropic, will eventually replace standard search engines like Alphabet's Google. He said he believes Apple will bring those options to Safari in the future. "We will add them to the list -- they probably won't be the default," he said, indicating that they still need to improve.

Let's see. For starters, technically covid19 will continue to change as all other viral pathogens do. So it'll be vaccines forever.
Masks on the other hand are a personal choice. I don't particularly mind seeing them bc it keeps the psyop going which, imo, allows for continues anonymity by face coverings should someone want to deploy them for that purpose

As an update to this post from last month, Q1 2025 had less interest expense than Q4 2024.
Treasury notes and bills of about 2 years or less are reinvesting with lower interest rates, while Treasury notes and bonds of 3+ years are reinvesting with higher rates.
Interest expense is going to remain elevated as long as interest rates remain elevated, but the "Treasury has to roll $9 trillion in debt this year" narrative was so overdone.

So to as long consensus is not broken and mempool doesn't get a bit too weird due to how many diff nodes running different mempool policy to the point making things harder for everyone in the end.
What is more important here is that CORE devs or any dev should not hold too much influence and arbitrary enforcement of what should or should not be done.
Thinks like node runners wanting to cast a vote against all this spam is important politically even if they don't have strong immediate effect at technical level.
Keeping everyone in check is important for Bitcoin's anti-fragile nature specially when bigger opponents arise to attack bitcoin.

Technically filters may not work as we all wished but socially they are working.
Certainly all this is raising eyebrows and awareness to some of the problems.
We all need to remain vigilant and small things like grandstanding on top of OP_RETURN filter may not yield concrete impact on the technical and working layers of the network but does have social impact and steers discussions towards ongoing problems even to the attention of those less aware about of all this and now catching up and becoming more interested in the subject.
Thing that all this net positive.
