Your experience is very interesting.
And it seems you are one who stay aware of what happen.
Your boss and other company leader do as they used to : max profitability.
Why would they allow you to have more time on a task if AI can do it faster ?
Fast and easy profitability have side effect too, as you said, the code is less understood by coder and this point will really be a problem in the future.
Because :
- Modularity of code have came with the side effect that your code rely on a lot of multiple others code. No way to secure or check them all. So it can be a source for bad code injections that is not in your code, and you don't have time to check, you just trust others.
- Bug understanding will be more and more difficult, the more you use AI to generate code, the less you understand all the code.
- AI will not stay only a coder assistant, but become a coder verificator / optimizor and even write directly a machine code in close future, to be ultimately optimized. and when it will happen, no one will be able to understand this source code or could only with a huge time. immediate profit and cost killer will be happy of this... for a time. Then some unexpected bug and behavior will happen, and for very important code some process will have to be reverted to keep an hand on it.
It is sane to be worry, it is really a huge evolution in coding.
Stay aware, on the problem AI will bring with is intense usage.
Warn people you work with. And when the problem will happen (because they will, you can be sure of it), you will be the one they will call for help.
Your job will not be irrelevant, not if you continue to be aware and ask yourself the good questions. As you already have done.
It is good to have a fast result for profitability.
It is better to master the result for security.
And security concern always win in the end when it hurt a lot the profitability or your company existence.
Thanks a lot for your share. And don't think you are alone thinking that way.

On a related note, I was thinking recently about why the face cloth was folded up and separated from the rest of Christ's linen cloths after his resurrection. There is a typological connection to when he raised Lazarus. But it also strikes me as a way of representing that first the head rises and then the body. Put another way, Christ the head rises first, returns to Heaven, and the body will join him again, member by member for a time as we each depart in our own time, but then in full at the Resurrection and final consummation of history.

If you want to emulate a successful person you need to emulate them at the beginning of the journey not once they’ve already found success.
So in the spirit of helpfulness and transparency here’s a portrait of who i was ten years ago to the best of my recollection.
- I was working my ass off trying to build my company
- I was focused to the point of over obsession on obtaining wealth
- I was extreme in my worldview, thoughts and actions and I demanded that others get on board or get left behind.
- I was willing to go out on my own and risk failure/rejection/embarrassment etc…
- I didn’t have a plan B. It was kill or be killed.
- I was willing to (and did) destroy relationships in the pursuit of growth.
- I was cocky and arrogant (mainly as a defense mechanism).
- I constantly inhaled information. Books/podcasts/news/private conversations etc…
- constant focus on learning, getting better etc…
- I was ruthlessly self critical, I would ruminate on every mistake no matter how small for months.
- I took big risks
- I went all in
- I met as many new people as I could
- I did not agree to disagree, I was out to win. Every single interaction.
- I made enemies
- I was shamed/ridiculed for my extreme behaviors (riding a moped etc…)
- I lived well below my means
- I kept doubling down on myself
- I got rid of the people who weren’t interested in growth, I pulled along others against their will.
- I had a savior complex and thought it was my duty to save everyone I met.
- I had a misplaced sense of loyalty and was loyal to the wrong people at times.
- I made dumb mistakes
- I let ego get in my way
- I never quit
- I showed up everyday and worked/learned even when it didn’t seem like anything was happening
- I fought anyone who got in my way
- I had extremely long term goals and aspirations and was willing to sacrifice and endure pain in the short term in order to meet them.
- I relentlessly battled my own self doubt which was a constant
- went against the wishes of my father and extended family
- went against the desires of my fiance (now wife) who eventually came to see things my way
Basically I was a young man who was willing to tear himself and everyone else around him to pieces in order to win. I’m not saying this was a good thing. I’m just saying this is how I was then.

That is so completely and diametrically opposed to anything approximating my worldview. Christ, I can't even imagine not making use of instrospection. It's certainly painful at times but it's much more rewarding in the long term.

I don't think he really care about USD anymore, he knows where fiat system is going.
So he use it and abuse it to buy BTC, while smiling to IMF.
