Your experience is very interesting.
And it seems you are one who stay aware of what happen.
Your boss and other company leader do as they used to : max profitability.
Why would they allow you to have more time on a task if AI can do it faster ?
Fast and easy profitability have side effect too, as you said, the code is less understood by coder and this point will really be a problem in the future.
Because :
- Modularity of code have came with the side effect that your code rely on a lot of multiple others code. No way to secure or check them all. So it can be a source for bad code injections that is not in your code, and you don't have time to check, you just trust others.
- Bug understanding will be more and more difficult, the more you use AI to generate code, the less you understand all the code.
- AI will not stay only a coder assistant, but become a coder verificator / optimizor and even write directly a machine code in close future, to be ultimately optimized. and when it will happen, no one will be able to understand this source code or could only with a huge time. immediate profit and cost killer will be happy of this... for a time. Then some unexpected bug and behavior will happen, and for very important code some process will have to be reverted to keep an hand on it.
It is sane to be worry, it is really a huge evolution in coding.
Stay aware, on the problem AI will bring with is intense usage.
Warn people you work with. And when the problem will happen (because they will, you can be sure of it), you will be the one they will call for help.
Your job will not be irrelevant, not if you continue to be aware and ask yourself the good questions. As you already have done.
It is good to have a fast result for profitability.
It is better to master the result for security.
And security concern always win in the end when it hurt a lot the profitability or your company existence.
Thanks a lot for your share. And don't think you are alone thinking that way.

Not the same way to think but the same conclusion.
Live your life, be happy with your family and let others in peace if they don't disturb you.
You don't have to charge weak people or just all the ones different of you. Just be "better/best" as you wanna be, and it will be fine.

Is it really the world you want for your family ?
The lesson of that story is clear, freedom is to let other think what they want and be what they want to be.

And it is what religious people try to teach and apply "love your people" instead of hate the one you don't agree with.
I am for real freedom and for peace.

As customer we will have to choose more human company.
It make me think about agriculture history.
- First it was only organic.
- Then industry force farmers to use fertilizers and pesticides to improve profitability
- Then people had more diseases and nature had some issues with that products
- Then some came back to product specific organic food for some who can afford it.
I think it will be the same for services and AI.
I don't want to talk to an AI, if i know it is just worthless. Reading a page to know the answer is "no" or earing an AI say "no" is the same for me. No AI needed to push me away without a real answer/service.
Perhaps the best future should to have AI for "first" hotline and real humans when the AI can't do anything. But certainly not "only AI" model.

When you will have to loose your time by discuss with an AI made by scammers, it will not be the same !
For the moment they use tools they have, but tools are improved with time.
I'm not eager to live that time yet.
I don't want to become completely paranoid (even if i am a little right now).
I remember 2 experiences :
- one with an intrusive phone call to sell something and the operator have a computer with any answer to the victim objection (i don't have time, i am not interested...) The only purpose was to keep the victim on the line, to sell it something. And it worked for most people because it was also a physiologic battle (why are you aggressive, listen you could win something or loose a chance to win...) not only based on marketing argue.
- second was a fake AI grand mother that was deploy in UK to "fight" spammer and scammer... i think this is future, AI bot to scam/spam, AI bot to protect... what energy lost for nothing in the end.

It seems the original design was not exactly to have 1 restaurant but 2. One for junk foods and one for fresh cheap food. The fact is there is only 1 restaurant one day that serve both and have the aim to serve only junk food for more profitability. But not sure if customer don'y have any choice, the restaurant will stay open a long time.

No more free will.
It is a little weird to say you fight for freedom.
And in the other side forbid a lot of things you consider bad.
And some subjects are more important than pronouns, like :
- World War
- World Economy
- Totalitarianism
- Privacy concern
- Unemployment
- Mental health
But perhaps i am on the opposite "side" just because i don't agree with the only "one good way to think" that remain.
Because it seems if you are not "for" you are now "against" which is a complete little vision.

The NATO seems irrelevant in that regard too.
Russia expansion is by testing, if no reaction, they go farther.
And when they feel ready, they start a "quick invasion" of territory.
The same strategy as nazi have done in the WW2.
Don't misunderstand my words, i am not saying russia will win this expansionist war.
I am saying the more time european are just waiting by allowing nationalist selfish leaders, the harder it will be to fight back.
And i don't think USA with trump as leader will care about that.
He have prove to the world his "deal" is just raping countries that are under attack (like ukraine ressources) and just pray, on his knees, the russia leader to make peace... But putin really don't care about that peace.
And NATO will just be empty without USA real lead.
So yes it is a little stupid to burn a flag and poo on europe if it is the last shield possible before Russia invade pologne.
Being nationalist in a country is stupid when you depend on others help. You will just be under attack and invade by your neighborhood, and it will remain no nationalist anymore. So you will gain the opposite of what nationalist say they want autonomy, free will...
When i am saying "you", i am not pointing you but the people of this country.
It is an interesting point of view anyway.

True and make most people scared and nervous.
But there is a difference today.
Social media help people communicate all over the world and avoid local propaganda.
It could also be a way to federate people around another project, instead of destroying humanity.
I'm more optimistic today than in previous war.
Be smart is not a question of belonging to a country, but just a human skill.
If leaders are just stupid there is no need to follow their project.
Any tool like #nostr will be very useful.
