Cerca de uma semana antes de ser encontrada morta por envenenamento no apartamento em que vivia, na zona sul de Ribeirão Preto (SP), a professora Larissa Rodrigues, de 37 anos, contou por mensagens enviadas a uma amiga (veja acima) que estava com sintomas como diarreia, tontura e vômito.
Ela também disse que estava sendo medicada com o auxílio do marido, o médico Luiz Antonio Garnica, e pela sogra, Elizabete Arrabaça, presos e investigados pela morte.

"Amiga, estava passando mal. Estou deitada. Minha sogra veio aqui a tarde. Depois voltou p trazer remédio que Luiz pediu p ela. Eles cuidaram de mim", escreveu Larissa na troca de mensagens obtida pela EPTV, afiliada da TV Globo no interior de São Paulo.

As mensagens foram enviadas para Caroline Marques de Oliveira, que não chegou a ver pessoalmente a vítima nesse período e, quando soube da morte, inicialmente pensou que tinha sido por conta de um mal-súbito. "Ela só passou a semana falando que estava ruim, só que eu não tinha conhecimento que a sogra estava indo todos os dias lá", disse.
Segundo um advogado da família de Larissa, nesses dias, a professora chegou a relatar seu mal-estar ao marido, mas ele se recusou a levá-la ao hospital, alegando que, por ser médico, cuidaria dela.
Uma das suspeitas da Polícia Civil, que investiga o caso, é de que Larissa tenha sido envenenada aos poucos pela sogra. Segundo os investigadores, a suspeita é de que Elizabete foi a última pessoa a ver a vítima. Além disso, as autoridades têm evidências de que a sogra ligou para uma amiga para perguntar sobre o veneno popularmente conhecido como "chumbinho" e que foi encontrado no organismo de Larissa, durante a realização do exame toxicológico.
Embora seja de uso doméstico, o "chumbinho" é de venda restrita e, em caso de ingestão humana, pode desencadear sérios problemas como perda da função motora e outros fatores, inclusive a morte, de acordo com o toxicologista Daniel Junqueira Dorta, professor do Departamento de Química da USP.
Elizabete, por sua vez, nega qualquer envolvimento na morte, assim como o médico Luiz Antonio Garnica. Eles foram mantidos presos após audiência de custódia e respondem por homicídio qualificado.

Larissa foi encontrada morta no apartamento onde morava com o médico Luiz Antonio Garnica, em 22 de março.
Inicialmente, Garnica disse que a encontrou caída e desfalecida no banheiro ao chegar em casa e, por ser médico, a levou para a cama para tentar reanimá-la, mas não conseguiu.
O Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (Samu) foi acionado e constatou a morte no local.
A autópsia foi inconclusiva e indicou problemas no coração e no pulmão. Já o laudo toxicológico confirmou a presença de chumbinho no organismo, reforçando a suspeita de envenenamento.
A Polícia Civil ainda apura a motivação do crime e a origem do chumbinho.
