I’ve taken some time to reflect before replying, because I truly don’t understand the level of anger you continue to carry, or how, despite years of verifiable work and an abundance of public evidence, you remain convinced by Shamay’s version of events.

The @BitcoinSranan X account alone documents two years of continuous grassroots progress. Samuel Kullman, a respected Swiss parlementarian, publicly shared his firsthand account of the event with Kruse, directly contradicting the narrative you’ve chosen to amplify.
Yet you chose to post only the last few transactions I sent you, not the full, transparent tracker. As a journalist, you know how that can distort a story. You also implied, without evidence, that companies like Newmont are involved in money laundering. That accusation carries weight, and consequences. I wonder if they’re even aware of what you have accused them of.
I’ve spoken in multiple national interviews here in Suriname, on the record, and refuted the claims circulating. I’ve also made it clear that if I were “controlled opposition,” I wouldn’t need crowdfunding or community-funded security. That’s not how this works.
Frank, I want you to know this isn’t written in anger. I don’t wish to discredit you. But I am disappointed. You asked questions, and I answered them all. I’ve never hidden. I’ve only kept working. And while I respect your work, I also ask you to reflect on whether you’ve truly honored the journalistic principles you represent.
Ralphie, by contrast, has shown grace, depth, and a sincere desire to understand. He knows more than most and asks better questions. Speaking down to him won’t change that.
You joined X in 2018. I’ve been in the Bitcoin space long before that. If I wanted to scam anyone, it would’ve been far easier to launch a shitcoin, mint NFTs, or fundraise behind some hollow token. But I didn’t. Because that’s not who I am. That’s not what I’m here for.
Ironically, some of the biggest scams of this cycle came from those closest to the people now pointing fingers. Including a sitting president whom launched an NFT and shitcoin platform. And let’s not forget: Bitcoin Magazine was co-founded by Vitalik. Some echoes still remain.
In any case, I regret that this has unfolded the way it has. I wish you peace and clarity. We’ll be reaching out to your editors to present the full picture, and over the next week, we’ll continue sharing more, openly and transparently, as we’ve done since the start.

A pro-cryptocurrency bill supported by Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent was narrowly defeated in a procedural vote in the Senate on Thursday. The GENIUS bill would have created a new regulatory framework for digital coins and had been negotiated with Democrats. However, they turned on it at the last second. The bill needed to garner 60 votes to continue in the Senate but failed on a largely partisan basis with all Democrats voting against it. 'The Senate missed an opportunity to provide that leadership today.' Forty-eight senators voted in favor of the bill, and 49 voted against it. Republican Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota blasted Democrats for what he said was simply an effort to stonewall President Donald Trump. “I don’t know why you vote against proceeding to a bill on the floor after you voted to refer that same bill to the floor, which of course makes you wonder if this is about the bill at all or if it’s simply Democrats obstructing because they want to deny Republicans or President Trump a bipartisan win,” Thune said. “Now, given the fact that Democrats keep moving the goalposts, it’s hard not to suspect that is the case,” he added. Democrat Sen. Ruben Gallego of Arizona put the blame on Republicans. “The Republicans killed it because my colleagues don’t have enough time to read the changes that we have been proposing," he said. Bessent warned that defeating the bill would give foreign competitors a leg up on the U.S. in the crypto field. "Senators who voted to stonewall U.S. ingenuity today face a simple choice: Either step up and lead or watch digital asset innovation move offshore," he said. "For stablecoins and other digital assets to thrive globally, the world needs American leadership. The Senate missed an opportunity to provide that leadership today by failing to advance the GENIUS Act," Bessent added. "This bill represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to expand dollar dominance and U.S. influence in financial innovation," he concluded. "Without it, stablecoins will be subject to a patchwork of state regulations instead of a streamlined federal framework that is more conducive to growth and competitiveness."Tech website Gizmodo reported that the regulatory framework to be set up by the bill was favored by cryptocurrency enthusiasts because it was weak and encouraged more investment.
