É que hoje em dia as pessoas apenas conhecem a posse e a propriedade como direitos sobre terras e imóveis, mas existiam e existem outras categorias de direitos, dentre eles a enfiteuse.
Funcionava assim: por exemplo, o D. Pedro tem uma fazenda gigantesca e as pessoas começam a ocupar partes de suas terras. O D. Pedro não quer desapropriar estas pessoas, mas também não quer perder suas terras. Então ele cria a enfiteuse, que é o direito do ocupante usar seu imóvel, como se dono fosse, pagando por um isto um valor anual. Na prática o ocupante é quase um proprietário, mas não é. E se o ocupante vender o imóvel em enfiteuse ou transmitir a herdeiros, ele também deve paga outro valor. Se não quiser pagar estes valores, ele deve devolver o imóvel ao proprietário.
A família real fez isto em Petrópolis e a Igreja constituiu enfiteuses em diversos lugares do Brasil. É uma forma de amparar pessoas que não teriam condições de comprar um lote ou alugar um imóvel.
Hoje em dia não é mais possível fazer isto, mas as antigas enfiteuses continuam por tempo indeterminado. Na Europa existem enfiteuses de séculos. Outras enfiteuses acabam com a morte do ocupante e o imóvel precisa ser devolvido, ou ser feito nova enfiteuse com os herdeiros.
Muitas pessoas não conhecem este direito e criticam injustamente a Igreja e os herdeiros da família real.
Já os Estados Papais foram criados depois de uma grande doação de terras, no que é hoje o centro da Itália, pelo pai do imperador Carlos Magno.
Sim, as terras foram perdidas, pois os revolucionários italianos as tomaram e o papa da época não resistiu, pois não tinha exército. E esta questão ficou décadas em pendência até o tratado e Latrão. Assim o vaticano não é considerado resquício dos Estados Pontifícios. É uma nova criação, um novo estado sem ligação com o passado. E a Itália reconhece sua soberania.
Na verdade o Vaticano é um estado apenas formalmente, como se fosse um grande imóvel sem subordinação a nenhum estado. É o sonho do Ancapistão. I agine sua casa sem subordinação ao estado brasileiro... Que sonho. Ele existe e se chama Vaticano.
Digo ser apenas formalmente porque o Vaticano depende da Itália para tudo: fornecimento de energia, água e segurança externa.
O valor da indenização que o Vaticano recebeu da Itália é um ponto meio obscuro. Eu nunca achei fontes confiáveis sobre o valor e é algo que eu gostaria de saber.

SERVICE UPDATE:
Coinos is back online but withdrawals are currently frozen due to a data loss incident. We lost our whole database sometime overnight and the latest available backup is about 24 hours old so we will need to piece together payment records and balance updates that occurred in the meantime from logs somehow. We're working on it.
We also had an unplanned outage of about 4 hours yesterday due to issues arising from an Internet connection upgrade at our data center. It's not clear whether these two incidents are related. We don't suspect any foul play. Funds are safe and we will make sure everything is accounted for.

I suppose bitcoiners are skeptical by nature. And I’ve used other services like this in the market for years now and I have no problem with switching my business to another provider if it makes sense financially. Do I control the bitcoin in the loan? No, but why does the counter party need to hold all three keys if I’m offered one now?Your rates are practically the same. So unless Strike is offering something that’s a leg up to the competition (better rates, less collateral/loan, etc.), why would I switch? Again, big fan and happy Strike customer for a long time.

If we save more bitcoins than we spend, we might win instead of lose. Fewer transactions = less profit for big miners = more profit for small or solo miners. Mining will go back to its original point and become available on home computers. Decentralization of mining = our overall gain. Maybe that's why big miners started a campaign against spam filters? They anticipate losses and ensure their income not through monetary transactions, but through spam.
