i've now drafted the full text indexer, it uses unicode to split up the words, eliminates the duplicates, and then feeds that to a background thread that updates the indexes for each word to add the database sequence record for the event to the list of them that contain each word
it's too late in the night for me to add the search function tho, but i will continue this work tomorrow, it's much more easy for me to do this than the bunker signer at this point, because i'm new to working with teh GUI i'm using for that, and i had to refresh my memory about how to encrypt keys and all the bits associated with that.
not gonna even test the indexer tonight, i'm poopered, but i will test it tomorrow afternoon after my fiat mine work, to make sure it isn't bombing out with a panic or anything, and then to work on the actual search function
the search function is a bit complicated... first you have to take the search term, break it down into words, and find all the records and get all of their lists of database sequence numbers, and then out of that, first, assemble a progressive list of the events that come up in all of them, and then one less, and one less and one less until there is no search terms left
then you go through those lists, and you scan the content field for the locations of the text matches, and find the ones that have the longest sequences of matches in the same order as the search request text, to sort them by, and then you return the events in descending order of exact matching, and all the events that have several of the terms but not in order after that
and then the task will be complete, and #realy will have a full text search capability with sort by relevance (relevance meaning how closely the result event matches the search terms).
making the index is the easy part. finding the matches and ranking them will be quite a long function i expect. the indexer is only 117 lines of code.

Now for the twice charcoal-roasted high mountain oolong.
This oolong is more in the style of what nostr:npub1u35v4cgxrflxhc29383zgj2nz7hvymwag70er75yr6exct4xkl3shav9u0 likes, but more to my taste than the kind he drinks. It’s very very toasted (in a way that makes me intimidated to try the five times-roasted one also in the sampler 😅), but underneath it is the most interesting bright fruitiness. This is a tea that I think would pair well with melon and prosciutto.
I’m thinking this and the other charcoal-roasted tea probably REQUIRE gongfu brewing to actually taste right. I’m usually loath to do it that way because even though it’s traditional, it feels like I’m both wasting tea and making it less strong than I like. In this case I’m pretty sure removing the first steep’s flavor components and making it less strong will actually bring its true flavors forward, and I’m interested to see what that’s like. Because of this, I think I won’t brew the other charcoal tea “Grandpa style”
Also… the Alishan milk oolong is so good iced! It brings out the earthiness and barest hint of smokiness to its “foresty” character, and is so refreshing! And look at how green its color is!!

i could be wrong, but i think that if #realy has a full text search capability it will be the first nostr relay that has this built into it, instead of being a ghey DVM. the nip has existed for a long time, https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/50.md
i never implemented it before though it was always on my mind, because getting realy into a fully working nip-01 compliant state was quite a lot of effort because of the shitty code i based it on, which i basically completely rewrote, almost 90% of it i'd estimate.
this will also be good for my efforts to sell the idea to my boss of shifting our data storage systems for chat and forums over to a nostr base, and because i made a HTTP API already, i only have to explain the event format to them, not the whole retarded nip-01 "API" that dare not speak that name (because it's a shit API, in so many ways)
it could well be that in the end, i'm going to be the one out of all the nostr devs who actually successfully builds nostr into a for real commercial protocol, because building a replacement for slack and gsuite has been on his mind since the beginning, i think most of what my boss is doing is trying to get funding for something bigger, so if we have already integrated chat and forum tech with nostr events, it's only a small step to include documentation, i have already now also had experience with working with international time and schedules, we can have calendar, messaging, chat, documents, i mean what more do you need out of a remote collab or just plain business data, comms and scheduling system than those?

i have one, hp mini g31... pretty nice for having the nice 10gbit usb-c sockets, mine has the one on the back that also does displayport, got it set up with 20gb of memory and 4tb SSD, nice cheap, low power rig for a full node, only draws max 35W
in a pinch it would be an adequate workstation too, but it's a lot slower than my main workstation.

it's because the hole only catches the photons that follow the straight path from the object the photon hits and then to the hole and then it hits the surface on the other side
there is lensing but it causes only slight distortion at the edges where it fades quickly to darkness, the centre part of the image is in perfect focus no matter where the object is, i think you would say that it has a very long depth of field
if you make the hole bigger you start to get more depth of field and only some of the image will be in focus
this is the same with our vision too, drugs that cause eye dilation also create a "soft focus" effect on your vision, everything seems warm and fuzzy

The company behind LBRY made Odysee, an effectively centralized platform, no more censorship resistant than anything else, and favored it over the LBRY client. The old web client, lbry.tv, now just redirect to Odysee (there is still a desktop client, however).
The TOS of Lbry also forget to use their services for "objectionable" content. Does just publishing stuff to the network mean using their services?
Lbry also has a list of blocked videos.
Something like Lbry should be designed, using existing technologies, possibly more than one at once, trying as reasonably possible to cut money out of the equation.
Often, money conflicts with other goals. If one goal is freedom of speech, it should win, it's more valuable than money. So cut money out of the equation and there is no conflict.

the situation with truck drivers in the USA these days is really bad too, so many cases of them crashing their cars and killing people, so much of it happen it almost seems like it's some kind of low key terrorism, as well as just plain incompetence
when i was in prison i met a croatian truck driver who was in for killing someone while driving a truck. he seemed like a nice guy, and accidents do happen... but nobody should be giving truck licenses from a foreign country without them at least having decent english and having their skill assessed properly.
worse is that many times it's hard to even find the companies that actually organise these drivers as well.

Worst case it’s on other relays. NFDB replicates on-site to 2 hosts in the current configuration but I may bump up that to 3 once I get more demand.
(The DB only runs on 3 hosts, and if one dies, then the DB would stop because it can’t meet triple-replication requirements.)
Planned off-site backups as well.

i did this to get my skillz... first i was trying to build a tendermint/cosmos thing, and then i got an internship to build a fork of bitcoin called parallelcoin
in the process i learned cryptography, multicast network protocols, encoding, binary trees, linked lists, graphs, GUI programming, and with nostr stuff, i learned websockets and then fell into the HTTP pool and now i'm building a matchmaking server for a social network project, and just now starting on writing a full text index from scratch
