In 240 dagen zwom de 31-jarige Mitch Hutchcraft eerst 35 kilometer het Kanaal over vanaf Dover en vervolgens fietste hij zo'n 12.000 kilometer van Frankrijk naar het kuststadje Digha in het oosten van India. Vanaf daar rende hij 900 kilometer naar de Nepalese hoofdstad Kathmandu.
Zijn laatste doel voltooide hij zondag: hij wandelde vanaf de hoofdstad naar de voet van Mount Everest en bereikte rond 08.30 uur Nederlandse tijd de top van de berg. "Het was het zwaarste dat ik ooit heb gedaan", zegt hij tegen BBC. Maar ik ben dolgelukkig en trots dat ik dit epische avontuur heb voltooid."
Roeien en fietsen
Het is niet de eerste keer dat de Brit een uitzonderlijke fysieke prestatie levert. Eerder roeide hij al bijna 5000 kilometer over de Atlantische Oceaan, en fietste hij 5000 kilometer door Noord-Amerika.
Hutchcraft droomde er naar eigen zeggen al sinds zijn achtste van om Mount Everest te beklimmen. "Maar ik had nooit, maar dan ook nooit gedacht dat dit de manier zou zijn waarop ik het zou doen."
Vader
De vader van Hutchcraft overleed toen hij 20 jaar was. Dat was zijn grootste drijfveer om in het leger te gaan. Hij diende zes jaar en vertrok in 2021.
Met zijn fysieke uitdagingen zamelt hij geld in voor een organisatie die veteranen en anderen die lijden aan een posttraumatische stressstoornis inzet voor natuurbescherming.

This seems to be a weak argument, don't you think ?
As some have already said, this "drama" only put light on some interested purpose, like :
- bitcoin governance which is devs + miners + nodes and not only one of theses.
- bitcoin have been born after a bank creases , and not to host other thing than BTC transaction. The proof of that is that any other "coin" try to host smart contracts, and others things without success... with BTC should have to follow the same path, if a part of the community is against that ?
- personal attacks are really useless for the debate on any side it come from. I mean there is enough to care about, not need to include here interest conflict, personal hate or bad feeling.
History will not remember that mister X stole mister Y, or that mister Y insult mister X because the project is higher than your little person.
You should all take the example of nakamoto in your words and actions instead of trying to find a default in others.
History will only remember if the #bitcoin stay a stable value blockchain for a long lifetime, allowing people to exchange value and do payment transaction as it was created for.
I am not as extremist as some, and can agree some place for other stuff only, and ONLY if it doesn't have any impact on the initial purpose of BTC, or his usage for transactions and fees. If this can be watched and guaranty, why not.
As i am not extremist in the other way, hoping the blockchain will be clean by opening another place to put extra data and hoping everything will be ok without any "firewall". And i don't agree spam is not a real concern. And as i read, it is not because the door is already open to spam nowadays that we have to do nothing or open a window, hoping the door will not be used anymore.
I had an interesting exchange with someone here that have talk about a real problem reveal by this drama :

- Miner are many
- Node are many

Nowadays it is not possible anymore it should be a real serious concern.
Dev working on bitcoin are publicly identified, they can be under pressure of anyone, they can be blackmail... they can be paid a lot of money to do something for the good of the one who pay for it.
And here i am not only talking about core historical team or knots one but every dev that will work on the bitcoin software.
It is really time to over secure this point because it is a weakness.
And even if the devs are serious, some of their tools could be also under attack like git...
So yes, this drama have just put light on serious concern, and 99% really don't care about personal attacks, but more to know the potential problem and the possibles answers to it.
And no one can say stay quiet, don't worry and let the professional think and do things for you. It is just like fiat do. All of you guys are enough clever to be better than that.
