Ao menos, cinco homens foram detidos durante uma ação policial na manhã desta terça-feira (13). De acordo com a Polícia Civil, os alvos da Operação "Vendeta" são suspeitos de integrar uma quadrilha que praticava diversos crimes, incluindo lavagem de dinheiro, homicídios e porte ilegal de arma (veja vídeo acima).
Segundo informações apuradas pela TV Globo, um dos investigados tem envolvimento na morte do ex-policial militar Heleno José do Nascimento, conhecido como Júnior Black, assassinado a tiros de fuzil em Boa Viagem, na Zona Sul do Recife, em julho de 2023 (saiba mais abaixo).

A 23ª Operação de Repressão Qualificada deste ano foi deflagrada pelo Grupo de Operações Especiais (GOE). A corporação informou que foram cumpridos quatro mandados de prisão e outros nove, de busca e apreensão no Recife e nas cidades de Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Caetés e Ipojuca, em Pernambuco, e em Campo Grande (MS).
Desde as 6h, cinco homens foram conduzidos à sede do GOE, que fica no bairro do Cordeiro, na Zona Oeste do Recife. Um deles foi liberado após prestar depoimento, enquanto outros entraram algemados. Entre estes, um foi levado sob um forte esquema de segurança.
A operação é realizada por 70 policiais, com apoio de equipes da Paraíba e do Mato Grosso do Sul. Até a última atualização desta reportagem, não foram divulgados detalhes sobre os crimes praticados pela quadrilha.

Um dos alvos da Operação Vendeta é suspeito de matar a tiros de fuzil o ex-policial militar Júnior Black no dia 17 de julho de 2023. O crime foi filmado por câmeras de segurança (veja vídeo acima).
Ele estava dentro de um carro quando foi baleado na esquina entre as ruas Dr. João Guilherme Pontes Sobrinho e Ernesto de Paula Santos, no bairro de Boa Viagem. Uma mulher de 54 anos que passava no local também foi atingida pelos disparos e morreu no local.
Na época, a polícia investigava o envolvimento dele num tiroteio que deixou dois mortos no Sertão de Pernambuco poucos dias antes do crime.
Segundo a Polícia Militar, integrantes do Batalhão Especializado de Polícia do Interior (Bepi) entraram em confronto com dois homens armados que estavam dentro de um carro que furou um ponto de bloqueio policial na BR-316, entre os municípios de Salgueiro e Parnamirim.
A dupla foi baleada e levada a uma unidade hospitalar, mas ambos não resistiram aos ferimentos.
