The Defensoria nas Escolas project, implemented by the Public Defender's Office of the Federal District (DPDF) in partnership with the Education Secretariat (SEEDF), identified 1,980 children and adolescents without their father's name on their birth certificate only in Ceilรขndia. The region will receive the next edition of the initiative, which will provide legal and psychosocial assistance to the population on the 15th and 16th. The mobile unit will be at the Escola Classe 68, located at QNR 2, Lote 2, รrea Especial, from 9am to 4pm. The information about the lack of the father's name on the birth certificates was tracked from school registrations and allows for active search of mothers to offer legal assistance, innovating institutional activity that traditionally occurs spontaneously, when the population seeks the DPDF. The project aims to expand access to justice through exclusive legal assistance offered by the mobile unit and educational meetings held by the Escola de Assistรชncia Jurรญdica da DPDF (Easjur) in public schools in the DF. The goal is to open the institution's doors to listen to the school community, understanding the needs and proposing solutions in agreement with parents, teachers, and students, seeking to sustain human relationships through prevention and qualified information. According to the public defender-general, Celestino Chupel, the Defensoria nas Escolas project reaffirms the institution's commitment to inclusion, education, and citizenship in a direct and effective way. "By promoting awareness in schools and offering personalized legal assistance, we strengthen collective understanding of citizenship and contribute to a more just, safe, and equitable society," he emphasized. "The school is often the first space where we identify social vulnerability situations. By integrating this project with the Public Defender's Office, we strengthen the educational environment, bring more knowledge to a concrete action that promotes the formation of conscious citizens of their rights and duties," defended the Secretary of Education of the DF, Hรฉlvia Paranaguรก. The Defensoria nas Escolas has already passed through the following regions: Plano Piloto, Riacho Fundo, Sobradinho, Sรฃo Sebastiรฃo, Samambaia, and Recanto das Emas. In total, over 5,600 children and adolescents were identified in this situation. By the end of 2025, all administrative regions of the DF will be covered.

it's easy to assume something like "Well, major infrastructure providers haven't said they are switching to Knots, so all of these people must just be raspberry pi users LARPing as if they matter"
but (1) it's possible for someone major to switch without announcing it (2) it's possible that a lot of these Knots users run small businesses, and if so, that can quickly add up to a significant amount of economic weight
I don't think there's a good way to know but there's another factor to consider: the Knots people are running a couple thousand nodes, and even if they only represent 10% of the people upset with Core, that means tens of thousands of people are now part of a vocal minority.
If this minority proves to be persistent, people who *do* have economic weight will be economically incentivized to serve that community and advertise to them, and part of their messaging could be "Look, we're running Knots too! Support us by buying our shirts & hats & VPSs and whatnot!"
So even if the majority of these people *are* LARPers, and even if their hobby nodes are meaningless by themselves, it can result in people who do have economic weight joining that community for self-interested reasons -- and then suddenly there *is* economic weight in that community.
