I hope everyone's doing well. Sorry I haven't posted lately about upcoming streams. I been dealing with a lot of things having doctor appointments, trying to learn linux, & other things outside the internet. I have been playing but not streaming because I have had only short periods like 20 minutes or so. I'm sorry for that I should stream more the lack of engagement discourages me I want to be successful streaming but it does take a lot of work.
Twitch doesn't allow me to chat because I have to link my phone number to my account & enable 2fa which I will not do. Youtube makes me jump through crazy hoops & keeps changing policy which makes me unable to monitize on my account. One of these requirements is to "watch 500 hours of videos' that literally means spend 21 days watchimg videos. Then they change what count's as a view so the view counter doesn't even go up if they can't track the person watching, or if they don't watch the full video. So my view counts are skewed it's just a havoc.
I want to stream on zap stream but I can't because I do not know how to setup my own rtsp there isn't a straight forward guide to do this & people who still use win7 like me are out of luck because everythings like 10/11 only & all the stream on 7 guides are disappearing. One of the many reason's i'm learning linux since computing & technology has evolved to the point where you have to if you just want to own your pc. All of this is very stressful & makes me wonder why I try maybe I should just get a construction job because I need more money now & give up on my dream & aspirations.
I don't want to just stream video games I would like to do more & maybe provide linux education once I understand it. But starting from the bottom is a lot harder then people think. When you have no supporters & all you have is yourself. Theres the zulip forums for those who are learning linux or are just working on individual projects.

Are they really “bundled” tho? Individual DVM kinds are like bubbles that form and may pop, and someone can come along and use those kinds again later. Right now, they aren’t “in” the spec anywhere except maybe it was using one of the reserved kinds.

Description
What is this?
This is a unified launcher for Windows games on Linux. It is essentially a copy of the Steam Runtime Tools and Steam Linux Runtime that Valve uses for Proton, with some modifications made so that it can be used outside of Steam.
Why is it called UMU?
An umu is an above-ground oven of hot volcanic stones originating from Polynesian culture. After the stones are heated, the top layer is removed and the food placed on top to heat/cook. We chose the name because Valve's containerization tool is named pressure-vessel. We're "preparing" the pressure vessel similar to how you would use a stove top pressure-cooker -- by placing it on our umu's "stovetop"
What does it do?
When Steam launches a Proton game, it launches it like this:

We can ignore this /home/tcrider/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-launch-wrapper, it's just a process runner with no real value other than forwarding environment variables (more on that later).
I managed to pull the environment variables it uses by making Steam run printenv for the game's command line. We needed these envvars because Proton expects them in order to function. With them we can essentially make Proton run without needing steam at all.
Next this part /home/tcrider/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SteamLinuxRuntime_sniper/_v2-entry-point
The first part /home/tcrider/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SteamLinuxRuntime_sniper/ is steam-runtime-tools compiled and is used alongside the sniper runtime container used during Proton builds.
The second part _v2-entry-point is just a bash script which loads Proton into the container and runs the game.
So, umu is basically a copy paste of SteamLinuxRuntime_sniper, which is a compiled version of steam-runtime-tools. We've renamed _v2-entry-point to umu and added umu-run to replace steam-launch-wrapper.
When you use umu-run to run a game, it uses the specified WINEPREFIX, Proton version, executable, and arguments passed to it to run the game in Proton, inside Steam's runtime container JUST like if you were running the game through Steam, except now you're no longer limited to Steam's game library or forced to add the game to Steam's library. In fact, you don't even have to have Steam installed.
How do I use it?

WINEPREFIX designates where to create the wine prefix. If not specified it will default to /home/username/Games/umu/GAMEID
GAMEID designates a corresponding umu-id from the umu-database for games that have fixes that need to be applied. Defaults to umu-default
PROTONPATH designates the full path to a specific proton version. Alternatively you can use value "GE-Proton" to auto-download and use the latest GE-Proton build. Defaults to UMU-Proton. (UMU-Proton is the latest stable version of Valve's proton tool with UMU compatibility added)
STORE designates what storefront to use. UMU uses GAMEID and STORE to search the umu-database for fixes to apply to a game. Defaults to "none".

Two new 10 Gbit/s server available (US)
Hello!
We're very glad to inform you that two 10 Gbit/s full duplex server located in Chicago (IL), USA, are available: Meridiana and Sadalsuud.
The AirVPN client will show automatically the new serverz; if you use any other OpenVPN or WireGuard client you can generate all the files to access it through our configuration/certificates/key generator (menu "Client Area"->"Config generator").
The servers accept connections on ports 53, 80, 443, 1194, 2018 UDP and TCP for OpenVPN and ports 1637, 47107 and 51820 UDP for WireGuard.
Meridiana and Sadalsuud support OpenVPN over SSL and OpenVPN over SSH, TLS 1.3, OpenVPN tls-crypt and WireGuard.
Full IPv6 support is included as well.
As usual no traffic limits, no logs, no discrimination on protocols and hardened security against various attacks with separate entry and exit-IP addresses.
