The IDF owes them nothing at all. Hamas is the government of Gaza, and it clearly has significant support among the population, particularly the wealthier segment who – if they disagreed – could just leave Gaza. Hell, Hamas got voted into power with a clear majority between them and even more extremist parties.
Worse, Oct 7th was _not_ solely Hamas. Roughly half of the murders and kidnappings were by "ordinary" Gazans who just decided to join in. And again, we see that support in how – unlike WW2 – there's no examples of Gazans helping hostages escape.
The onus was on Gazans as a whole to stop this violence rather than support it. They chose the latter.
Germany paid huge sums for WW2 reparations, including wide scale confiscation of private property. Hopefully Russia will as well. And for that matter, Iran.
Does Ukraine owe Russians anything for the large amount of Russian property destroyed and Russian "civilians" killed in the course of defending themselves? Of course not. Israel is no different.

I hate to break it to yall folks building the future but it's not bitcoins name or sats that's stopping folks from bitcoin adoption.
It's the fact 70% of Americans live check to check while your clapping for government and businesses to stack bitcoin before them while they already can't afford basic bills due to the governments fiat system.
We don't have the money to be into bitcoin, let alone pay our bills just to live. Inflation prices are up forever Laura. And the mass of people cant learn creating more value faster than they are printing and devaluing the money.
If you want others to be into bitcoin. They have to be able to afford to save first.
Pass down and teach others how your creating value if you want others into bitcoin. 90% of jobs can be learnt if someone shows them how to do it.

不要着急作文，说实话，没有足够的阅读也写不出来，即使写出来的，也只是个人的一知半解。
阅读就是要由点到面，但这个面的范围还是不能太泛。它是点的波及，是这个的有点衍射出去的波面和整个晕圈，绝对不是整个湖面。
我们读书，有的时候，不能克制求知欲，以至于读书很多，却离自己研究的问题，或者说那个中心点，愈来愈远。结果，书读了，无以成文。这是读书之大忌。
真正的读书，它的所谓系统，其实就是从中心点到最外层的晕圈。读不到最外层，看不到整个波动的空间，就是不全面。但顾及到全面，却又茫然不知所措中心点，也不能建构整个问题的应答逻辑。
所谓读书要有系统，无非就是这样的由中心点到最外层晕圈，又从整个波动回到中心点的反复。
通过这种反复，就会催生整个知识链，最终达至对问题的全面回应与思考。
此乃读书要系统之要义。

Fold needs to let you transmit rewards over lightning, im suspicious that they don't let you do that. They only let you transmit purchased bitcoin over lightning. I wonder if I transferred rewards to my bitcoin wallet in Fold and then transferred it out on lightning if that would be the best way to do it?

What makes Bitcoin powerful isn’t just that it’s hard money. It’s that it means something. That it carries stories. That it has history.

I don't have a real opinion on this yet but, If we got rid of the word sats and now say that there are 2.1 quadrillion Bitcoin, _AND_ people hear that they can get 967 Bitcoin for a dollar, I'm pretty sure psychologically people would sense it as more of a bargain.??? Just an idea

that's a good question. Right now we use $ which means dollars. There is a symbol for cents which is ¢ but we still use $ 0.32 when using cents. I think the correct term might be 0.32¢
Is there an actual symbol for sats? I remember reading somewhere they made up Bitcoin denominations but the denominations don't have symbols. We only have the ₿ which means a whole Bitcoin.
Everyone is just using the word sats because no symbol exists. Maybe they should invent one.
I prefer using bits over sats, but bits doesn't have a symbol either. I guess we could use ₿ but it would get confusing.
For example ₿21 might be confusing, does it mean 21 Bitcoins or 21/sats /21 bits
maybe we should invent a symbol for bits

I would also put forth the argument that regulating platforms that have obscene amounts of market share **helps** decentralize the Internet. If regulation hobbles (whatever positive attribute), then that attribute is now reserved for the 80% of players that are sharing 20% of the market.

Platforms that are so large as to influence public discourse and indeed support/opposition for literally any policy position, by not being regulated, are incentivized to keep it this way. They could even muscle out competition by burning money that came from, ohidunno, people paying them to bolster/suppress a given viewpoint.
This is the same virgin autist argument you hear every time someone complains about something Windows is doing. Okay, sure, yes, in a perfect world, we'd all be using Linux. Now down here in Realityland, people use what the computer comes with.
