Grote brand in bedrijfsloods Coevorden, NL-Alert verstuurd
In een loods in Coevorden woedt een grote brand. Het gaat om een uitslaande brand bij een recyclingbedrijf dat pallets maakt. Vanwege de rookoverlast is een NL-Alert verstuurd.
De brand brak even na 03.00 uur uit in het pand aan de Marconiweg. In het bedrijf worden houtvezels geperst. Deze vezels worden verwerkt in pallets. "Bij het pand zit een grote opslag met zaagsel en houtsnippers. Die proberen we met alle macht te behouden", zegt een woordvoerder van de veiligheidsregio tegen RTV Drenthe.
Meerdere brandweerploegen uit de provincie zijn opgeroepen om het vuur te bestrijden. De Marconiweg is afgesloten. Ook is het treinverkeer tussen Mariënberg en Nieuw-Amsterdam stilgelegd. Dit duurt naar verwachting tot ongeveer 07.45 uur. Er rijden bussen om reizigers te vervoeren. Hoe de brand kon ontstaan, is niet bekend.
