I honestly believe a lot of communities need to give WoT a real chance, rather than relying on centralized moderation or a 'high table' of influential figures calling the shots. If they actually want to thrive, evolve, or even just preserve what they have, decentralization is key. I’ve seen way too many communities twist into something completely unrecognizable, and honestly, kind of awful, because of the people in charge. I think the worst cases were those where the higher ups sold themselves out and abandoned any idea of community for profit. Maybe something like Nostr can't solve it entirely, but it's certainly the next step that I believe most won't take.
