I mean the day-to-day variability
Prior to end of August you've got an eyeball variance of +/- 500 per day at the 95% confidence interval, superimposed on a linear trend
That started in January and lasted for 8 months

Then there's a step change to +/- 7,000 per day superimposed on I don't even know wtf to call that, which lasted about 2 months
Now it looks like we're back to +/- 500
I can't think of a reasonable model of human behaviour that would produce 10-fold step changes in variance

Cerca de 15 mil adolescentes, entre 15 e 19 anos, ainda não receberam a vacina contra HPV (Papilomavírus Humano) em Rio Branco, segundo dados da Secretaria Municipal de Saúde (Semsa). Por conta disso, a prefeitura intensifica a campanha de vacinação contra a doença.

Em março, o Programa Nacional de Imunizações (PNI) no estado lançou a estratégia de vacinação na capital com foco em adolescentes. Segundo o planejamento, mais de 30 mil jovens devem ser imunizados contra o HPV na capital acreana. Esta é a cobertura pretendida pelo PNI.
A vacina é garantida, de forma gratuita, no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) para adolescentes. De acordo com o governo estadual, a estratégia foi lançada pelo Ministério da Saúde (MS) no final de fevereiro, e seguirá de forma gradual até abranger todos os municípios.
A saúde estadual visa imunizar 40% da população estimada na faixa etária na capital, o que deixa a previsão em 31,2 mil jovens.
Quase dois meses depois, o público-alvo ainda não foi atingido. A imunização está disponível gratuitamente em todas as unidades de saúde do município.
A campanha tem como foco dois grupos principais:
Adolescentes entre 15 e 19 anos - que ainda não foram imunizados
Meninas e meninos de 9 a 14 anos - faixa etária ideal para a aplicação da vacina.
"Precisamos ampliar a cobertura vacinal e proteger os jovens contra doenças graves, como o câncer do colo do útero, câncer nas regiões íntimas, de garganta e verrugas genitais", diz a campanha da Saúde Municipal.

Vacina HPV
A vacina contra o HPV existe há 10 anos. Ela é distribuída, de graça, para crianças entre 9 a 14 anos e para adolescentes entre 15 e 19, além de imunossuprimidos.
O HPV é responsável por 99% dos casos câncer de colo de útero, o terceiro mais frequente entre as mulheres no Brasil, sem considerar os tumores de pele não melanoma. Atualmente, o câncer do colo de útero é considerado passível de erradicação, por meio da vacinação, rastreamento e tratamento das lesões.

O papilomavírus humano também é fator de risco para desenvolvimento de câncer no ânus, pênis, vulva, vagina e de cabeça e pescoço (uma região conhecida como orofaringe).
As crianças têm um desempenho melhor no desenvolvimento de uma resposta protetora contra o vírus. O que reforça a importância da vacinação entre os 9 e 14 anos, idade em que a maioria dessas pessoas nessa faixa etária ainda não iniciaram a atividade sexual.
Estima-se que mais de 80% das pessoas serão infectadas pelo vírus HPV, que é altamente contagioso, em algum momento da vida, mas isso não significa que toda infecção vira câncer. Dados do Ministério da Saúde apontam que o HPV atinge 54,4% das mulheres que já iniciaram a vida sexual e 41,6% dos homens.
