The towns part is definitely concerning to me when a university is the backbone. Already so many hollowed out places in this country from industry leaving.
I would love to see groups of bitcoiners and likeminded people go and rebuild/revitalize some of the towns with good bones, infrastructure, and location as decentralized citadels of sorts.
I think the trade schools will do better as more and more kids are guided in that direction. It was mainly boomers who taught their kids to do regular college or be poor (I certainly fell for that programming)

It's fine to rebrand, don't see why Block needed that, but fine. I see some scaling issues with the previous logo, but it could have been worked around with simpler versions for small sizes. This is 100% philosophical and 0% psychological reasoning, which, in my opinion, is wrong for design. Block isn’t a customer-facing company, but it’s still a company - a parent company - that communicates with current and potential employees, partners, and investors. It previously did that very well; it was inspiring, magical, and praised for its design and the sense of “this is where magic happens.” Now, it’s generic and dull, appearing like a mistake, as if no effort was invested.
Even if the vision behind this direction was good, the execution isn’t. It looks beyond generic. The logo appears as a placeholder. Compared to Microsoft and the Windows logo - both even more minimal - the intention and story behind them are apparent. Here, they’re entirely absent. Clearly a mistake, in my view.
Damn, I really loved the previous, dynamic logo.
