Noord-Korea: drie mensen opgepakt om mislukte tewaterlating marineschip
Noord-Koreaanse staatsmedia melden dat drie mensen zijn opgepakt vanwege de mislukte tewaterlating van een marineschip eerder deze week. Het zou gaan om de hoofdingenieur van de scheepswerf, het hoofd van de bouwafdeling en een administratief medewerker.
Het 5000 ton wegende oorlogsschip had afgelopen woensdag op de werf in Chongjin zijwaarts in het water moeten glijden; een methode die Noord-Korea nog nooit eerder had gebruikt bij marineschepen. Volgens de officiële lezing liet een hijsvaartuig aan de achterzijde het schip te vroeg los. Het is niet bekend of er slachtoffers zijn gevallen.
Dictator Kim Jong-un, die het ongeluk zag gebeuren, reageerde woedend en sprak van een "criminele daad". Hij beloofde dat de verantwoordelijken streng zouden worden gestraft.
Wat voor straf de arrestanten boven het hoofd hangt, werd niet meteen duidelijk. Noord-Koreaanse gevangenissen staan bekend om hun erbarmelijke omstandigheden. Uit onderzoeken blijkt dat gevangenen systematisch worden gemarteld.
Satellietfoto's
Afgelopen vrijdag verschenen de eerste satellietfoto's van hoe het schip erbij lag: deels op een zijde, deels nog op de kade. Het schip lijkt met een zeildoek te zijn overdekt. Vermoedelijk is dat om te voorkomen dat de satellietbeelden eigenschappen van het schip aan het licht brengen die geheim moeten blijven.
Noord-Korea beweerde afgelopen vrijdag dat de schade meevalt en dat er tien dagen nodig zijn om het schip leeg te pompen en te repareren. Volgens deskundigen kunnen de reparaties in werkelijkheid wel een jaar duren.

Less than a day to sync would be a dream.
I ran my very first node on my pc and that was quick. It took about 36 to 40 hours for IBD. I quickly got uncomfortable having Bitcoin in my Core wallet while it was also running Windows.
Then I switched to Raspberry pi.
After listening to you guys… I’m considering going back to running a dedicated computer in addition to the smaller units. Maybe I will learn a little more.

The one thing I think the Monero community also needs to talk about is nodes. How many nodes that are out there and how decentralized can you make it? In my opinion, they should have a app that allows your phone to be a node. I don't know if there is one already, but I'm not seeing one yet.
