Er fragt, warum der Himmel so grau ist, warum die Steuern steigen, warum die Kriege nie enden, wie ein Mann eine Frau werden kann. Doch jedes Mal, wenn er spricht, erscheint ein Schatten. Ein Faktenchecker, ein Wächter der Wahrheit, der ihm sagt: Deine Worte sind gefährlich. Sie sind Desinformation. Fritz lacht, denn er weiß, dass Wahrheit nicht in einem Amt geboren wird, sondern in der Gasse, im Streit, im Widerspruch." Heine nahm einen weiteren Schluck Wein, seine Augen blitzten.
„Eines Tages beschließt Fritz, ein Buch zu schreiben, teils aus Überzeugung, teils, weil die Miete drängt. Er nennt es »Desinformiere dich!«, ein Aufruf, die Ketten der vorgegebenen Wahrheit zu sprengen. Er schreibt nicht aus Hass, sondern aus Liebe zur Freiheit und aus purem Trotz. Doch die Wächter kommen, löschen seine Worte, nennen sie verunsichernd, radikal. Sie sagen, die Bürger seien zu schwach, um selbst zu denken. Fritz aber flüstert in die Nacht: Wer sich nicht irren darf, wird niemals begreifen." Die Schänke war still geworden, nur das Knistern des Kamins war zu hören.
Heine lächelte bitter. „Diese Geschichte, meine Freunde, ist keine Fantasie. Sie ist unsere Zeit. Die Zensur trägt heute kein Monokel, sondern ein wohlmeinendes Gesicht. Sie löscht nicht mit Feuer, sondern mit Algorithmen. Sie spricht von Schutz, doch sie fürchtet die Freiheit. Und doch – solange es Menschen wie Fritz gibt, solange es Schriften wie dieses gibt, bleibt der Irrtum ein Funke, der nicht erlischt.”
Ein junger Mann vom Nebentisch sprang auf, das Gesicht gerötet vor Eifer. „Fritz ist ein Prophet!“, rief er, die Faust triumphierend erhoben. „Die Ämter lügen, die Wahrheit liegt bei uns, den Freien!“ Die Schänke hielt den Atem an.
„Ein Prophet, sagst du?“, begann Heine, seine Stimme durchdringend. „Junger Freund, wie glühend dein Eifer, wie blind dein Glaube! Dein Verstand schreit nach Freiheit, doch was tut er? Er tauscht Prebunking der Ämter – diesen neumodischen Zauber, uns mit Wahrheit zu füttern, gegen die Dogmen der Gasse, wo jeder Narr seine eigene Wahrheit wie einen Fetisch anbetet – du krönst ihn zum Heiligen, statt Fragen zu stellen!“
Der junge Mann sank zurück, die Fäuste geballt, die Röte nicht mehr vor Eifer. „Hütet euch vor der Meute, die Worte wie Fahnen schwenkt, ohne zu prüfen! Wahrheit ist kein Banner, kein Prophet, kein Schwarmgeheul in den Gassen der Welt. Sie ist ein Funke, der im Streit glimmt – und wer ihn löscht, sei’s durch Zensur oder blinden Glauben, bleibt ein Narr!“ Ein Raunen ging durch die Schänke.
„Doch du, junger Freund“, fügte er hinzu, ein wohlwollendes Lächeln auf den Lippen, „in deinem Schweigen keimt Weisheit, denn der Irrtum ist dein Lehrer.“
Er hob sein Glas. „Auf die Freiheit des Denkens, auf den Streit, auf den Irrtum – denn im Irrtum wächst die Wahrheit.“ Die Gäste erhoben ihre Gläser, einige mit Zweifel, andere mit Feuer in den Augen.
Heine aber wusste: Seine Worte würden weiterleben, so wie Fritz’ Streitschrift, ein Ruf in die Dunkelheit, den Irrtum nicht aufzugeben.
