No, but I can check it out! The GATE program I think was related to the Project Stargate program and the Gateway Experience. We called it GT, some called it just gifted, some called it completely different things. Also there's a lot of overlap with like special education classes for like mentally disabled too. #Lightning really shits the bed at higher (but not all that high) amounts. I used #Zeus to send 250k sats to another wallet. I upped the timeout to 4 minutes (after figuring out that it timed out after 60 seconds by default), which I figure is more than enough time to piss a merchant off and everyone standing in line behind me waiting for my fiat killer to work.
I can't seem to use any of this shit seriously without having to constantly fuck around with settings, troubleshooting, and vague errors.
Square adoption is great and all, but what happens when Lightning shits the bed? I can't pull out Lightning cash. My only other options in this shitty bed are fiat, on chain (even more waiting), or some custodial company.
The only way I finally got the transaction to succeed was to split it into several smaller amounts. Sending and receiving capacities were enough on both ends.
This is just using my own wallets at home. I can't imagine dealing with this at a merchant.

This is probably how things will play out at least for the next few decades.
I don’t see the dollar going anywhere anytime soon, especially with Tether coming into the picture.
There will always be 1-2% of the population that uses actual Bitcoin as a MoE, maybe another 3-5% that will use LN, but the vast majority of people will continue to spend fiat trash and save in Bitcoin. SoV is the feature that’s most in demand now and into the foreseeable future.

I don't know, I tend to think the main reason nostr took off so quickly was because it had extremely simple cryptography compared to other systems and that it worked in a web browser
But that is probably just my bias since I wouldn't have started working on nostr if it weren't for that :)

I can't recall when I last saw a Square terminal (it may just be less apparent now), but this is how the Bitcoin adoption problem is solved at the merchant level. Just give it to them with no requirements on their end if they want to remain on a fiat standard. Win-win.
Removing the bullshit tax and KYC requirements (I don't care to hear how you ignore them - cool) would be game over. There would be practically no hangups left for most people. Just choose your wallet and go.

It's actually far more simple.
Without the outbox model, you have to keep adding more and more relays that you read from so you will see the posts from all your followers, and more and more relays that you write to so that everyone who follows you will see your posts.
With outbox, you can have a handful of read relays, a handful of write relays, and other users' Nostr clients just read from whichever ones you wrote to and write to whichever ones you read from. You as the user don't have to do anything to make sure that you can see the posts those you follow are making. Your Nostr client just looks up what relays they are writing to and shows you their notes, even if you don't have them in your relay list.
It's delightfully simple when properly implemented.

In my experience remote signing with nostr keys works well enough and doesn't seem to be the bottle neck since a signature is only needed when the user is taking an action so any delay can be handled with a loading screen.
Remote decryption is more of the issue since its slower than signing and usually requires more than a single call (user opens DM conversation). NIP-59 just makes this worse though by 2x the number of calls
I don't know what a good solution is but I don't think its key delegation or derivation since that requires either a messy permission language (NIP-26) or a extra metadata layer or changes to the relays 😞

I'd totally zap the media I actually want. In fact, it would save money. Consider Netflix, I'm paying for all the shit on there I don't want to see. I could just buy the couple pieces I want for fewer sats. It would also give a live, open view of the media people actually want. Zaps don't lie. It's a lot harder to push personal agendas and other bullshit in that free of a market. Everything becomes crystal clear for media consumers AND producers.
