entrou, nesta terça-feira, 27, com uma ação civil pública contra a montadora BYD e duas empreiteiras que prestavam serviços à empresa chinesa. Há suspeita de trabalho escravo e tráfico de pessoas.
O órgão pede que a Justiça condene as empresas a pagarem quase R$ 260 milhões por danos morais coletivos, além de indenizações individuais no valor de 21 vezes o salário contratual de cada uma das vítimas, acrescidas de uma remuneração por dia a que foram submetidas às condições análogas à escravidão.

Há pedido dos procuradores também para que a BYD, o Jinjiang Group e a Tecmonta sejam multadas em R$ 50 mil para cada descumprimento das normas brasileiras de proteção ao trabalho. A ação ainda pede que a quantia seja multiplicada pelo número de trabalhadores prejudicados.
