there are many ways to do offchain scaling and payment channels are one of the worst ways. they are a very specific type of plumbing that only makes sense in specific situations, that coincidentally are almost always involving some kind of custodian

That's the thing though, there's no proof of work required to post on the nostr. That's probably the answer, ultimately, as if we require a certain amount of proof of work, because then you can't post indiscriminately. Are you willing to let your cell phone battery get hit by some computation to post your note? Probably. But if you want to post multiple times a second so that you can spam people, it's different.

I think it depends and that's my point. I'd need more details to have any real position on this example. I'm just speaking in general terms.
Threatening to shoot or blow up a school, for example, should be a felony for an adult. That's why details matter. Even for 1:1 cases. It just depends on what happened and why for me.

He tends to get defensive in positions where he doesn't necessarily need to do so as staunchly as he does, at least from my 3rd party perspective. He is no doubt excellent at conveying ideas & understandably has to push back when pushed. No one's perfect, I just think he ostrisizes a fair number of listeners when the insulting language comes out.

Nem sei se leram o texto todo, mas isso é bem desapontante. Acho que o Nostr BR não é amigável a textos mais longos.
Achei um texto logo de 2023 que eu fiz aqui no Nostr, de um modelo contratual para se ter uma sociedade com leis libertárias e postei aqui, demorei muito tempo fazendo ele. Acho que ninguém até hoje sequer leu... Não tive respostas nem reações.
Me faz ter cada vez mais a sensação de que postar conteúdos mais trabalhados aqui não vale a pena, as pessoas não tem interesse, o feed engole e mesmo que eu poste algo mais curto explicando algo, mesmo quem viu ainda volta a perguntar...

#asknostr why don't we have something like xpub for nostr?
We can do key derivation, I am doing that in animestr, and we can convert the key to an x only key, so why is nxpub not something we have?
It would make it easy for someone to change keys. We keep 0 as master, then use 1, if 1's nsec is compromised we publish an event from 0 letting everyone know, and everyone can derive npub 2
Why is this not what every client does?
