There is no book, or deity to consult that can guarantee us true axioms or true rules of inference.
Mathematics is in the same boat as the sciences: we search for the truth by constantly trying to remove errors, but we can never know for sure that we have found THE TRUTH.
We can only know that we don't have axioms or rules of inference that work better, and that turns out to be pretty damn useful.

Today, June 4th, 2025, marks the 21st anniversary of the KILLDOZER — one of the most infamous acts of rebellion and defiance against government authorities.
Marvin Heemeyer owned a small muffler shop in his town. The local government approved the construction of a concrete plant directly in front of his business, effectively blocking access and causing severe financial harm. Marvin repeatedly sought solutions through legal means, appealing to the city council to halt construction or allow partial access. Every request was denied.
At one point, Marvin even offered to build an alternative access road at his own expense — he had purchased the necessary materials and machinery. Still, the city refused.
To make matters worse, the concrete plant disconnected Marvin's shop from the town’s sewage system. Instead of helping, the city fined him for having improper sewage. 🤡
With his business failing and his personal life in ruins, Marvin meticulously planned his revenge. Over the course of 1.5 years, he secretly modified a bulldozer he had originally purchased for the road project. He fortified it with steel armor, installed bulletproof glass, and equipped it with a sophisticated camera system — state-of-the-art for the time.
On June 4th, 2004, Marvin locked himself inside the armored bulldozer and began his mission, first demolishing the concrete plant that had devastated his livelihood. Over the next few hours, he drove through town, systematically destroying government buildings and the homes of public officials he held responsible for his plight.
The SWAT team was deployed, but their weapons, including rifles and explosives, proved useless against the heavily armored KILLDOZER.
Nothing seemed capable of stopping Marvin’s fury against the system — until the machine became trapped in the debris of one of the buildings he was demolishing. Surrounded and with no way out, Marvin took his own life — the only casualty of that day.
Today, we remember the day of the KILLDOZER and Marvin Heemeyer — the last great American anti-hero. A simple man who decided to fight back after his life was destroyed by an indifferent government.
Among his notes, one quote stood out:
“I was always a reasonable person until I had to be unreasonable. Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things.”

For all those privacy-minded, surveillance-hating plebs... is there any solution to protecting your property from google earth satellites?
I am not talking about google maps where you can request (key word here) to blur out your house image so other people don't see it, yet google still keeps it. I am talking about the idea of the notion that they have of the right to just surveil and document every corner of the earth without anyone's consent every second.
I am looking for info on this but barely find mentions of the concept. Is there any way to jam satellite signals to block a geographical area or are we down to camouflage techniques?
I truly don't understand how this is not a bigger issue in the privacy-surveillance discussion. Is it because it is a loss cause? Any info on this either tactics to fight it or documents/videos to understand it is appreciated.

What we take in every day either shapes us who we are, what we think and what we do, or at the very least impacts what we feel - sometimes shallow feelings and sometimes deep rooted that leave a lasting impact.
Call me crazy, but I think it’s important to re-evaluate what you expose yourself to day to day. And a clean break can be super helpful.

Taking a quick look and two things stand out; committed binary library files and huge commits very much lacking commit notes and details, just version bumps.
Binary files could be deterministically built and compared to known hashes. Commits could include notes about the changes in smaller increments. It appears that many changes are made in private and then only pushed live at each release, lots of opportunity for underhanded coding.

Podle generální advokátky Soudního dvora EU Tamary Ćapetaové porušilo Maďarsko unijní právo, když zákonem z roku 2021 omezilo práva a svobody komunity LGBT+. Kvůli zákonu zemi zažalovala u unijního soudu Evropská komise, Ćapetaová jí nyní dala za pravdu. Navrhla také, aby soud konstatoval, že Budapešť mimo jiné porušila článek unijní smlouvy týkající se základních hodnot EU.
