A Secretaria Municipal de Saúde do Rio alerta para o aumento de queimaduras na época das festas juninas. No ano passado, foram 356 pacientes queimados graves na rede municipal entre junho e agosto.
Seja em fogueiras, na preparação de alimentos ou nos fogos de artifício, é preciso cuidado redobrado para a alegria não se transformar em uma experiência desagradável.
No Hospital Pedro II, cerca de 65% dos atendimentos de queimaduras são de crianças entre 5 e 14 anos.
"“É um acréscimo sazonal entre 30% a 40% nos atendimentos, resultando numa sobrecarga para a unidade e o setor de Emergência. As principais causas são o manuseio incorreto de fogos de artifício e fogueiras, além do preparo de comidas típicas", afirma a chefe do centro de tratamento de queimados da unidade, a médica Carolina Junqueira.
"As pessoas precisam tomar certas precauções, como não soltar balões, o que inclusive é um crime previsto em lei, se distanciar de fogos de artifício e das fogueiras. É necessário tomar cuidado ainda com produtos voláteis, como álcool, próximo a áreas de perigo. Supervisione o uso do fogão e mantenha crianças longe da cozinha", afirma o médico Orido Pinheiro, chefe do centro de queimados do Hospital do Andaraí.
Em caso de acidente com queimadura, Pinheiro recomenda: “Sempre priorize água resfriada para minimizar a dor e procure por um serviço médico, em uma clínica da família, se o ferimento for superficial, ou em UPAs ou unidades hospitalares, conforme a gravidade e extensão da área atingida.”
A Secretaria Municipal de Saúde do Rio (SMS) conta com três centros de tratamento de queimados (CTQ) nos hospitais Souza Aguiar, Pedro II e do Andaraí.
Para casos de menor gravidade, as unidades de Atenção Primária (centros municipais de saúde e clínicas da família) também estão aptas a realizar o atendimento.
