The mystic powers and such feel out of place because the game originally started out as a new IP called “Dinosaur Planet.” Nintendo wanted Rare to convert the game to a “Star Fox” game in hopes it would boost the sales numbers. The end result is an interesting concept that doesn’t quite feel like Star Fox or Zelda, but somewhere in between.
