Yesterday a judge placed a temporary restraining order stopping NIH cuts in indirect costs to grantees' institutions in the 22 states whose attorneys general had sued the NIH and HHS. The cuts continue in the 28 states, including Iowa, that are not part of the suit. Here is The University of Iowa's update from yesterday, including a pause on submission of any new NIH grant proposals and on the hiring of new graduate assistants not specifically funded under direct costs.
