I only thumbed through their doctrine (a curiosity since I interact with Catholics a lot), but I know that the "flesh and blood" as far as what they call "transubstantiation" regarding communion is weird and Hitler thought that too.
Regardless of their diverse doctrine, I know that (as an abstract) the only requirement for salvation is simply to believe the testimony of God, the testimony which is written in the Bible, to trust that the promises therein are true. There's no "confirmation" in that way in the Bible, you're either a child of God or you're not.
Usually this is phrased on "believe on Jesus" - which is true, but in order to believe on him, it means that the rest of the Bible is true (the testimony that Jesus was sinless, killed, buried, and rose again on the third day) - and trusting in his promise of eternal life, knowing that by praying to Jesus, he is an advocate and a brother unto us for the Father, who will not cast his sons (even adopted) into hell.
Idk if you're there because you like the people or it's expected of you, but as far as the condition of your soul, it's either saved or damned. The "permanent mark on your soul" for a saved person is ridiculous because the Bible promises that when we become sons of God, he will remember our sins no more. There is no black mark, because to God, if saved by belief, we are sinless in his eyes, because he promised.
Anyway just kind of talking about what comes to mind there hope you don't mind.
